What is global warming?

• Global warming refers to the phenomenon of the earth’s rising average temperature of the near-surface air and oceans.

• During the past 100 years, the earth has become 0.74 ± 0.18 °C warmer.

• There are two arguments about the cause of global warming:– Anthropogenic activities– Natural phenomenon

"Global warming results mainly from anthropogenic activities."

The temperature has been increasing dramatically.

If there are only the natural forces involved, the temperature shouldn’t increase so rapidly like this.

The earth's average temperature is proportional to atmospheric carbon dioxide positively.

The atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse effect gases have been soaring since 1750.

Conclusion

There’s still no knowing whether global warming is caused by anthropogenic activities or not.

We should still fight against global warming even if we are not sure the cause right now. Because if we don’t devote ourselves to this campaign, it may be too late after we fully understand its mechanism.

If everyone concerns about environmental issues and the protection of eco-system, the world will be better!
