What is Global Warming

Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual

increase in the average

temperature of the Earth's

atmosphere and its oceans,

a change that is believed to

be permanently changing the Earth's climate.

Effects Of Global Warming The effects of global warming are the

environmental and social changes caused (directly or indirectly) by human emissions of

greenhouse gases.

Many impacts of climate change have already

been observed, including glacier retreat, changes

in the timing of seasonal events, and changes in

agricultural productivity.

Climate Change Climate change include increases in global

surface temperature (global warming), changes in rainfall patterns, and changes in the frequency

of extreme weather events.

Climatic Changes Climate change will have a significant impact on

the sustainability of water supplies in the coming decades. A new analysis, performed by consulting firm Tetra Tech for the Natural Resources Defense Council, examined the effects of global warming on water supply and demand in the contiguous United States. The study found that more than 1,100 counties, one-third of all counties in the lower 48 will face higher risks of water shortages by mid-century as the result of global warming. More than 400 of these counties will face extremely high risks of water shortages.
