Cross-Cultural Competency
Cross-cultural competency is the ability to effectively communicate with and interact with people from different cultures. It encompasses a variety of skills that will be increasingly important as students enter the future job market.
Cross-cultural competency skills include the ability to understand other people through their own context, see issues from multiple perspectives, and be a flexible and adaptive problem-solver across different settings.
The program consists of 4 modules, each of which supports the development of cross-cultural competency skills; the core curriculum, travel in context, developing university-level research skills, and the Experiential Learning Project.
