From EWWR to Let’s Clean Up Europe
• The concepts of waste prevention, waste reduction and
reuse before recycling are the priorities of European
Commission
• With a broader concept, waste prevention is also prevent
from littering and leaving dumped waste
• The idea since 2013 of a European Clean Up Campaign:
Let’s Clean Up Europe

How we get to organize the campaign

Methodology
• Call to action (based on the EWWR experience)
• Registration form
• Monitoring through evaluation form on waste collected and
participants
• Document and bear witness the actions carried out
(everywhere the same flag!)

How did it work?
• Choice the time: from the 3rd to the
17th of May
• Identified coordinators: 30 both at
national and regional level (mainly
associations)
• Sharing: 23 countries involved
.

planned events (i.e. Cleaning beaches in Italy with
