Reached in Chiapas, Mexico ... (and we’re not done yet!)
Chiapas, Mexico is not what you’d call a tourist destination. Located in southern Mexico, it is home to the most indigenous groups of any state in
Mexico — and is a land plagued by persecution, poverty, conflict and illiteracy.
The next generation of Chiapas desperately needs the one true hope found in Jesus Christ!
This is why our ministry in south Mexico ... compassionately supported by friends like you ... is vitally important. And by God’s grace, it is thriving!
To date, in just the last 18 months, we’ve presented the Gospel to four million children in Chiapas through distribution of the Book of
Four Million Children
OneHope is sharing the Good News with the children and youth of Chiapas, Mexico!
T
Hope and showing The GodMan film. Praise God!
As a result, the local church is growing ... and excited to work
alongside OneHope to continue reaching children and youth with
the life-transforming Word of God.While persecution and hardship
continues for the indigenous people groups of Chiapas, the children also face some key heart-felt needs:
• Strengthening key family and peer relationships
• Need for community• Low self esteem
In 2011, through your continued support, OneHope seeks to work with partners and develop programs that aim to:
• Increase the attendance of children and youth in church by 20%
• Help the local churches in assimilating youth into discipleship and outreach ministries
We praise God for His blessing on this outreach and our evangelistic efforts in Chiapas, Mexico and ask for your continued prayers — so that EVERY child can come to know that Jesus loves them ... and experience hope for eternity!
An Open Door: God’s Word to every child in CAR?
“Top Five” sounds pretty good. But not in this case. Not long ago, Central Africa Republic (CAR) found itself in a “top five” list: the former French colony numbered among the top five “least developed nations” in the world, according to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)*.
Civil war has destroyed or forced many of CAR’s schools to close.
Those which have reopened are very short on resources with only about one book to share for every eight students in the classroom.
The near-continuous conflict that has plagued CAR since its establishment as a nation in 1960 has eroded family connections and the moral framework that would once have been handed down from generation to generation. Some
might even say that CAR is a nation without hope.
But all of that is about to change! The Prime Minister of Central
Africa Republic has invited OneHope to bring the Book of

Hope to every child in the entire nation ... as God’s Word takes root, life-transformation will begin!
With God’s help, and through the support of friends like you, OneHope will utilize the following programs in CAR:
• The Book of Hope and The GodMan film. We’re actively distributing the Book of Hope and showing The GodMan film.
• Hope for Kids (Kids’ Evangelism Explosion). In partnership with Kids’ EE, OneHope will provide the evangelism materials to be used as young people (ages 9 to 13) are trained to reach their peers with the Gospel. Working with partnering churches Kids’ EE will train young people to KNOW Christ, to GO and share their faith and to GROW in Christ as they
help others. Result: the love of Christ shared
child-to-child!
• 17 Stories. Utilizing iconographic images and key stories spanning the
metanarrative of Scripture, this new program engages young people with God’s Word over a 12-week period. Each story, and corresponding picture card, draws the young person
deeper into God’s Word, allowing them to understand God’s plan for their lives and His desire to have a personal relationship with them.
By God’s grace, this door to CAR has opened just as a new Scripture engagement program has been developed for other African nations. It’s a storybook of 75 stories from the Bible designed to help develop a Christian worldview and enhance Bible literacy, so children are more likely to follow Jesus and make good choices.
Many of CAR’s children cannot read — and may never learn to
read — our plan is to record a native storyteller sharing the 75 stories in the Sanga language most children speak. Students in school will receive the book and listen to the stories. It will help them learn to read, and most importantly, help form a Christian worldview.
For children who aren’t in school and may never learn to read, the spoken-word stories will impart information in this oral culture.
• The GodMan in the Sanga dub is estimated to be complete in October 2011
• The Storying Edition Book of Hope in the Sanga language is to be completed this month
• The Audio Bible in French and Sanga is estimated to be complete in September/October 2011
Please pray for our efforts to reach the children and youth of CAR with the destiny-shaping Word of God. May we faithfully engage their hearts and minds ... and transform their nation ... for Jesus Christ!

Your love and prayers at work in Haiti
We’ve seen it time and time again: God’s Word brings hope ... even in the most desperate of
situations.Thank you for being a part of
bringing God’s grace and goodness to the nation of Haiti. Look at what God has accomplished in this terribly impoverished nation through friends like you:
We continue to minister heart-to-heart to children in the refugee
tent camp communities — sharing the Book of Hope tent by tent and on several occasions showing The GodMan film. Twenty children made decisions to follow Christ at one of our first Kid’s Club meetings! Praise the Lord!
Please rejoice with us in what God is doing among the broken and hurting of Haiti, but please also continue to lift this nation in fervent prayer as the situation there remains very difficult.
We must especially pray that the recent cholera outbreak does not gain a stronghold in this already volatile nation and that God’s love will overcome the hurt, loss, and pain these people have experienced.
A single dollar ...Three young people reached with the Gospel!
For the price of a cup of coffee each day, you can reach three children and youth with God’s Word. Just RSVP today to join Hope 365.
• You can give $30.42 per month — and in the course of the year, you’ll present the Gospel to 1,095 children and youth.
• Or you can give your $365 gift now for the entire year.• A family can join together and commit to give $2 to reach six
children every day, or $3 to reach nine.
Of course all gifts are tax-deductible. Just visit www.onehope.net/Hope365 online today or you may sign up using the enclosed reply form!
Thank you for your love and compassion toward the children and youth of the world.
Twenty children made decisions to follow Jesus Christ at one of our first Kid’s Club meetings in
the desperate Petionville tent community!
Together, by God’s grace, we can see 89,598,691 children and youth receive the Gospel in 2011 as we work to fulfill our God-given vision: God’s Word. Every Child.

M“My life was very bad.”That’s how sixteen-year-old
Sabi summed up his childhood. His mother had died when he was a small boy ... and Sabi resented his new stepmother with a passion.
Anger and bitterness took root in Sabi’s young life. He went out of his way to disobey his stepmom and disrespect her at every turn. He avoided her, shunned her affection, rebuked her in anger, and insulted her whenever possible.
But Sabi never felt vindicated. Instead, he felt more and more shame. More and more anger. So he tried harder and harder to show
his stepmother his soul-deep hatred. And then, one afternoon, Sabi
experienced God’s love, first hand.A group was distributing a book
called the Book of Hope. Sabi asked for a copy and read the entire book in one evening!
In his own words, “It radically changed me.”
Sabi committed his life to Jesus that very night and immediately sought out his stepmother, asking for her forgiveness.
Today, the mother and son are rebuilding their once fractured relationship and attending church together!
Thank you for reaching out to Sabi, and thousands of young people like him, with God’s life-transforming Word.
Sabi experienced God’s love through
the pages of the Book of Hope!
Sabi may look like his “former” self, but his heart has been radically transformed by the grace and forgiveness of God.

Prayer Focus: OneHopeThailandHere are FOUR SPECIFIC ways
you can pray for the OneHope Thailand team in 2011:1. This year, we’re following up our
wonderful Christmas outreach by making TheGodMan film available to churches that want to continue their outreach efforts. We are praying for thousands to view TheGodMan film and for about 20,000 books to be distributed as well.
2. Please pray that we can connect with the right people
and organizations in hopes of focusing more attention on the Thai Muslim community (not only in Southern Thailand but also in Bangkok). We would love to find additional creative ways to minister to Thai Muslims with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
3. Pray that God’s love would reach the prostitutes and at-risk children of Thailand. We are working on strategic ways to minister to this hurting
population of women and children.
4. We are partnering with the Thailand Bible Society to conduct three High School Bible Quiz programs in three different locations throughout Thailand! The children will memorize material from the BookofHope — the high-impact ministry potential is unbelievable as many of the kids that attend are from Buddhist backgrounds!

Dear Friend,
You’ll see in this publication what God’s Word, and His love, can do. You’ll read of lives changed, of millions receiving the Gospel, of countries where hope is almost non-existent -- and yet you’re making a difference by the power of the Living Word. Thank you!
Let us just remind you: this ministry moves forward, carried by the prayers of partners like you. Please, as God brings it to mind, pray for your OneHope outreach worldwide.
Pray for the children who may be hearing the salvation story for the first time ... pray for our OneHope leaders who are seeking God’s direction for the new year of ministry ... pray for the protection of our partner pastors and churches as they present the Word to the next generation.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will bless our efforts so the Word will go forth in power!
And, please, pray God will provide the resources to touch over 89.5 million young lives with the Good News this year. Psalm 5:2 is our prayer ... “Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.”
Thank you for lifting your voice in prayer for the children of the world, and the ministry of OneHope. We know God always hears, and always answers!

OneHope, founded in 1987 by missionary Bob Hoskins, and directed by Assemblies of God missionary Rob Hoskins, is reaching the world’s children and youth with Scripture that speaks directly to their lives and culture. Through OneHope, in collaboration with churches and ministries — and working with local governments, schools and non-governmental organizations — a message of hope has been given personally to over 700 million children and young people in 125 countries through its Book of Hope publications, The GodMan animated film, and other Scripture engagement tools. Using outcome-based research, OneHope continues to innovate its ministry model and offers its expertise and resources to other child-focused organizations.
Erasing the past with hope for the future
Paula’s life was filled with problems.
She lived with her mother in Colombia, in
an angry and often-times violent home. Her mother had a drinking problem and would physically fight with Paula when she came home drunk.
Paula felt rejected, alone, and humiliated. She feared her mother’s drunken rages. Hopeless, Paula gave up on everyone and everything. She dropped out of school. What was the point of even trying for a better life?
But then, your love and compassion reached out to Paula.
She received a copy of the Book of Hope and came to know the Lord as her personal Savior!
She is faithfully attending her local church ... and
has re-enrolled in high school with plans to
continue on to
college.Paula is working on her
relationship with her mother and has learned to live a life of forgiveness, just as Christ has forgiven her.
Today, by the power of God, Paula has erased the sorrow of her past with hope for her eternal future! Thank you for helping to make her life-transformation possible.
Your love and compassion reached out
to Paula!
Paula has found hope for the future in Jesus Christ. Today, she is witnessing to her mother and praying that she, too, can find joy and healing in God’s Word.
