The Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Design module (IED)
IED is an exciting and challenging module where the knowledge and skills you gain are highly transferable to whatever career you pursue.
Alongside a series of lectures on the topics of innovation, design and entrepreneurship, you will take part in a unique business simulation where you will analyse the innovative needs of a large multinational and develop a business case for the company to grow. This business case is as relevant to someone exploring innovation within an organisation as it is if you are planning to start your own business.
The module breaks down the entrepreneurial journey into four stages which you will explore with the help of the IED Toolbox, a comprehensive online resource of articles, web links, slides, videos and more. You will also receive coaching sessions provided by a professional team of coaches and academics throughout the module.
During this two-week project at the start of your second year, you will work on campus in groups of students with complementary skills and personalities.
This module provides you with a practical opportunity to apply and integrate what you’ve learnt in Year 1 and enables you to think more strategically when faced with the challenges of bringing new ideas to market.
The knowledge and skills you gain during this module are highly transferable to whatever career you pursue.

17
Final Project
This module allows you to put the theory taught on the MBA into practice. You’ll develop specialised expertise by researching a real business issue and influence real commercial outcomes, if your recommendations are implemented by a sponsoring organisation.
This project is an essential part of the Global Online MBA experience. It requires you to submit a report of up to 15,000 words for assessment. Your report must have a critical, evaluative or analytical element, and add value by creating something new in terms of method, application, ideas and knowledge.
Projects range from consultancy assignments to theoretical analyses and are often sponsored by companies. You may choose to do your project with your own organisation.

The Hub virtual learning experience
You can access The Hub, your virtual learning environment, from wherever you are, on whatever device you want to use.
We have invested heavily to create the online learning technology that we use on the Global Online MBA, adopting many of the technologies we all already use in our working lives.
All these technologies are connected via The Hub, our purpose-built virtual learning platform. The Hub has been designed and developed over a number of years by our award-winning Edtech Lab.
“ The e-learning platform is absolutely phenomenal. It is easy to work through. It has interaction with the lecturer so you don’t feel that you’re just reading notes - you’re watching clips, you’re contributing, you’re having to do quizzes. It’s almost as if you’re sitting in the classroom! For me the greatest thing is the fact that I can learn anywhere and anytime. I could be picking my kids up from an extracurricular activity and be able to log into The Hub and get through a certain section I’m studying.” Khilona Radia Global Online MBA 2016-17 Business Owner, Health sector
