Dinnissen introduces new compact
Pegasus Mixer oering signicantbenets in terms o increased capacity, energy savings and the addition o liquidcomponents in the eed industry
Feed manuacturers are increasingly using liquidcomponents to realize the desired end product.Such companies need to be able to vary the type, combination and quantity o the liquids to be addedin order to create an endless diversity o productcharacteristics or pig, poultry and cattle eeds. Thismakes new demands o the mixers used in the eedindustry. To meet these demands, Dinnissen Process
Technology has developed a new model o thePegasus Mixer. This mixer can easily be integratedinto existing production processes and oerssignifcant benefts in terms o increased capacity andenergy savings.
Mixing liquid components morehomogeneously or a higher-quality result
Dinnissens new Pegasus Mixer is capable o adding18 dierent liquids very precisely in all possible typeso combinations and quantities to dry materialssuch as meal and premixer. These liquids can be
oil, water, or acid based and can be used to addhigh value substances such as vitamins, enzymes, minerals, avour enhancers, aromatic substances andpreservatives to various eeds. A unique aspect othe new compact Pegasus Mixer is that it operateswith an unusually precise coefcient o variation(2-3%), making it possible to realize an extremelyhomogeneous end result and a very high end quality. As a result, eed products can be produced whichare even better adapted to the type o animal and therelevant stage o its liecycle. In particular, improvedeeds can be produced or young animalsand animals which are
sensitive to changes in the taste and structure othe eed, such as poultry and young pigs. It is evenpossible to initiate drying while the liquids are beingsprayed on, which means that the chemical reactionscan be controlled while the liquids are being added. The compact Pegasus Mixer also makes it possibleto quickly and exibly switch to new recipes and eedcompositions.
Signicant increase in capacity and savingso time and energy
The new Pegasus Mixer mixes extremely quickly, making it possible to realize energy savings o 30-40%. A unique aspect o the new Pegasus Mixer isthe extra space created on the top via the use o largequick-release slides. As a result, larger quantities odry components can quickly be added rom above, making it possible to produce more batches per hourand to realize a capacity increase o 15-20% per hour. The increased throughput time allows companies tonow work with a smaller and less expensive mixer orelse to use a mixture o the same size but to load it less
requently, thereby realizing signifcant energy savings. An additional advantage is that the new PegasusMixer will never be the limiting actor in terms oproduction capacity.
New design acilitates integration into existingproduction processes The new Pegasus Mixerhas a dierent design, making it easier to integrate itinto an existing production process. To realize this, the bottom ap has been redesigned and the casingis narrower. The ease with which the new compactPegasus Mixer can be integrated into existingprocesses is another reason why eed producers are
increasingly replacing their traditional ribbon mixers toproft rom the benefts oered by the exible doubleshat Pegasus Mixer. For more inormation, pleaseeel ree to go to www.dinnissen.nl or to contactDinnissen Process Technology via tel.0031 (0)77 4673555.

Feed milling is the necessary stage in animal eedproduction because milling eed materials canampliy raw material surace area and thus make thenutritional ingredients completely dissolve in animaldigest system, which contributes greatly to animaldigestion. Besides, the milling size exerts directinuences on eed urther process such as the qualityand complexity o animal eed. Feed mill is the very
chosen tool which is qualifed to this important missionand, thereore, getting to know eed mill machineworking technology and how to choose a perect eedmill are exact what we shouldnt ignore.
1. Feed mill machine classifcation In act, eed materialmilling is o various methods like cutting, pressing, grinding and milling, etc. Based on eed material types, characters and size requirements, we usually choosemilling methods. The requently used eed millingmachines are as ollows.
1.1 Double roller eed mill
Double roller eed mill adopts a pair ocylinder, which rotate in the oppositedirection to cut and grind eedmaterials. It eatures high millingefciency, convenient to use andadjust, thus widely applied inour production. While in eed
milling industry, it is always used or the frst workingprocess in the second grinding stage.
1.2 Gripper tooth grinder
Gripper tooth grinder is a kind o fxed hammer mill.It consists o eeder, tooth-fxing plate, tooth movingplate, sieving and machine rack. Tooth fxing plate,
tooth moving plate and sieving compost-millingchamber. Feed the materials into milling chamber,at the smashing orce o high speed moving teeth, materials are scattered to the room between fxed teethand moving teeth, where are smashed and crushed.Because o the on-going eect on crushing, eedmaterials are milled and blown out by air pressure. Thiskind o eed mill can oer sieves o dierent sizes ordierent materials and fness.

1.3 Feed hammer mill
Hammer mill is a type o smashed milling deviceand consists o cylinder sieve plate, hammer rotors, hammer and smashing plate which fxed aroundhammer rotors. It works in this way: Lead eedmaterials in spaces among smashing plates, sieveplate and rotating hammers. Hammers are used orsmashing materials and crush them to small granules.During working, eed materials are smashed andcrushed continously and repeatedly until they are fne
enough to go through sieves. Feed hammer millseatures small room occupation, high milling ratio, low energy consumption and so on, thus wins wideapplication in animal eeding industry.
2. Feed mill perormance infuencing actorsand how to chooseGenerally speaking, the inuencing actors toeed milling machine perormance includes eedraw material, eed mill machine structure, energyconsumption and environment protection equipment, etc. Here are some recommended options or choice.
2.1 Raw materialFor grain eed, choose the hammer mill with eederson top; For bran and cereals eed, choose the grippertooth grinder; For mineral eed like shell, choose eedmill without sieve; i material is used as preprocessing
o mixed eed and the fneness could be adjusted, choose special hammer mill with no sieve.
2.2 Feed mill machine production powerAs a general rule, there are production powers ininstructions, but we still should note the ollowingpoints:
(1) The criterion uses maize as material, the moisture
content is about 13%, 1-2mm sieving slices. As maizeis the most common grain eed, and 1-2mm is thesmallest sieving size; the production capacity is smallin this situation.
(2) Choosing eed mill with a larger capacity than thepractical capacity so that prevents production in casehammer wearing and air leaking.
2.3 Feed mill machine matched powerThe kw in instructions is always a oating range ratherthan a fxed number. For example, 9FQ-20 eed mill
has the matched power o 7.5-11kw; and the 9FQ-60with the matched power o 30-40kw. There are somereasons or this: one is there is huge dierence inthe needed power when we use dierent materials.Milling sorghum consumes double power amount thanmilling maize. The second reason is that it makes hugedierence to mill machine load when changing dierentsieve holes.
2.4 Feed mill machine energy consumptionWe should consider energy consumption duringpurchasing. According to the standard code, whenchoosing hammer mill with 1-2mm sieving slices togrind maize, the output o per KWH should not lessthan 48kg. At present, domestic hammer mill has largeoutput than the standard and the excellent hammer milloutput per KWH can be 70- 75kg.

The milled materials are discharged in three ways:gravity blanking, negative pressure suction andmechanical conveying. Stand-alone mill machinealways adopt gravity blanking and this design cansimpliy its structure. The medium sized mill machinealways adopts negative pressure suction device whoseadvantage is to suck moisture and store easily; this
kind o mill has higher milling eect o 10-15% andlower dust amount.
2.6 Dust and noiseIn eed processing industry, the dust and noise mostlycome rom eed mill machine so that we shouldgive sufcient consideration on these two sanitationindexes. I you have to choose a eed mill with loudnoise and produces more dust, or the workers healthsake, you should resort to the noise reduction anddust prevention methods. The above six sides are eedmill machine itsel inuencing actors that play quite
a signifcant role in your decision; at the same time, rom viewpoint o overall situation, eed mill developingtrend can undoubtedly aect which eed mill machineyou will purchase.
3. Feed mill machine developing trendSince 19 century the frst hammer mill is inventedin the U.S.A. It has developed ast and continually.Until today it enjoys the most popularity in the eedprocessing industry. Considering the dierence ineed raw material, there are two main eed mill typesin the world: the Europe type and the American type.European people usually use mixed-milling (frst mixing
then milling), and with bean cakes, mineral materialslike bone powder as base eed materials. While inAmerica, eed ormula contains a hal amount o maizeor wheat without using barley or oats which are difcultin milling; besides, the moisture content is also lowerthan that o Europe. We have kept in step with the
international eed processing technology and broughtout the water drop hammer mill, vertical shat hammermill. Hammer mill is equipped with an adjustablespace between hammers and sieve, and can realizethe coarse and fne milling; whats more, it controls theamount o eed materials automatically and becomesa hot potato in eed milling stage. High automation,
adjustable processing materials and capacities, durable materials and spares, low energy consumptionmaybe important indexes in eed mill improvement.Feed mill machine technology is increasingly matureand scientifc ater over two centuries development;while eed processing industry large and highquality demand brings unceasing changes to eedmill industry. The knowledge on eed mill machinedevelopment and technology are obviously a know-how or us to choose the perect mill. We have beenengaged in eed milling and pelleting industry orseveral decades and are rich in eed milling technology.
Please visit this pagehttp://www.pellet-machine.net/product/eed-pelletmachine/index.html on our website or urtherknowledge o eed milling and other eed processingmachines i you are interested. Bear in mind thatmaking an overall analysis on eed raw materials, eedplant location, eed mill indexes and the develop trendcan turn your eed mill processing a cost- and energy-efcient solutions.
