Abstract

This research paper aims to undertake a comprehensive study of the battery operated e-rickshaws. Auto rickshaws are small, three-wheeled vehicles which are used extensively in many Asian countries for transport of people and goods. In India, auto rickshaws are commonly used as they are not very expensive to operate. Despite the advantages in the vehicle design, auto rickshaws present a huge pollution problem in major Indian cities. This is because of the use of inefficient engine, a 2 or 4 stroke. These vehicles create more pollution as there is not such regulations on them and also a very large population of the country rely on these vehicles. This paper presents a transportation system for auto rickshaws that can operate in an environment friendly way. The existing vehicles are replaced by an all-electric components which are redesigned in a manner which will improve the efficiency of the vehicle. Thus looking at the existing Vehicle and the environment in which it operates, we have produced a Prototype electric vehicle. Abstract

Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) is a popular metal fabrication process in construction, shipbuilding operations and metal structure industries. Improving the weld quality is of prime concern. An adaptive sliding mode controller, estimates the bound of uncertainties, and modulates the rate of the electrode feed mechanism that regulates the arc current. The electrode feed-rate mechanism with this controller is driven by an AC servomotor, which can compensate for both the molten part of the electrode and undesirable fluctuations in the arc length during the welding process. The method can be easily applied to any welding system in which the electrode is consumed during the welding process. By maintaining the magnitude of the arc current at the desired value and the stability of the arc length, excellent welding performance is obtained. Abstract

The word Cycloid, with its adjective Cycloidal, is derived from Hypocycloid which describes the curve traced by a point on the circumference of a smaller circle rotating inside the circumference of a larger fixed circle. Just like words such as helical, worm, spur, and bevel, cycloidal is a generic adjective; it merely describes the gearing mechanism inside the speed reducer. A cycloid speed reducer is one of the rotational speed regulation devices of the machinery. It has advantages of the higher reduction ratio, the higher accuracy, the easier adjustment of the transmission ratio, high shock load absorption capacity and the smaller workspace than any other kinds of the reducer. This paper proposes a simple and exact approach for the lobe profile design of the cycloid plate gear, which is a main part of the cycloid reducer. The solar panel is work by allowing the light into solar cells. The lighter that impact on a panel, the result more powers it will be generating. Due to the upwards angle of solar panels, they are more liable to a build up the dust and bird dropping. The dirt which is not clean with just rain. This is reducing the same amount of light impact on the panel and reducing panel output. The solar panel manufacturers and installers are claimed about the projected energy figures that based on the optimum performance of clean solar panel. Due to build up the dirt on solar panel, that can adversely affect the panel’s ability to meet that projected figures. So, it is necessary and important to clean the solar panel in order to protect and get more power output. So, we are design and develop the automatic machine which is clean the solar panel and improve the panel efficiency. Keywords: Solar Panel; Motor; Roller Brush; Efficiency; Dust Affect.

Abstract

The main aim of this project is to automate railway track pedestrian crossing without use staircase & announce the status of the arrival for platform users. In this system is also used to avoid train collision problems. Because, now a day train accident are occurring frequently in India. The one of the main reason for train accident is the traveling of two trains in same track in opposite direction. In order to avoid the accidents due to the above reason we have designed this project. This project identifies the status of each train using IR transceivers and informs it to microcontroller. If the sensor unit identifies both train in same track means microcontroller automatically trip the supply of the trains, which is more than sufficient to avoid this kind of accident. This project is used to avoid the train collusion; thus, we save the valuable human lives and losses. So this project is useful for railway departments. Abstract

The paper deals with The engines powering today’s vehicles whether they burn gasoline or diesel fuel rely on a system of valves to admit fuel and air into the cylinder and the exhaust gases to escape after combustion. Cam has been an integral part of internal combustion engine from its invention. Cam controls the breathing channels of the IC engines and hence maintains constant valve timing. The problem in using cam shafts is being major power wastage in accelerating and decelerating the components of the valve train. Friction of camshafts, springs, cam belts etc., also robs us of precious power and worsens fuel economy not to mention contributing to wear and tear. In response to the needs of improved engines some mechanical or hydraulic devices have been designed to achieve some variable valve timing and to reduce the disadvantages accompanied with the usage of cams. Most four-stroke piston engines today employ one or more camshafts operated poppet valves. The lobes on the camshafts operate cam followers which in turn open the poppet valves. A cam less (or, free valve engine) uses electromagnetic, hydraulic, or pneumatic actuators to open the poppet valves instead. Actuators can be used to both open and close the valves, or an actuator opens the valve while a spring closes it. Keywords: Camless Engine; Solenoid; Actuators; Electronic Circuit; Capacitor.

Abstract

Studies have shown that due to drop in Tyre pressure by just a few PSI can result in reduction of tire life, gas mileage, and performance of vehicle. Also it can be the for road accidents. Though tubeless Tyres has been invented but it could not withstand as a perfect solution in all the conditions. So, we have developed automatic and self-inflated Tyresystem for stabilization of air in Tyres that ensures that Tyres are properly inflated all the times. This concept is based on the use of nozzle which helps to increase air thrust to overcome internal pressure of Tyre to regulate and maintain the Tyre pressure in running condition. The most important factors that should be taken in account for maintenance of Tyre like proper inflation pressure, proper vehicle loading, regular inspection, good driving habits, vehicle condition, etc. This concept arises with innovative idea for improvement in our Automobile industry. With the increasing prices of oil and growing concern of environmental issues, this system addresses a potential improvement in gas mileage. Thus in this concept, we reviewed the all available self-inflating Tyre systems that are used nowadays. There are lots of self-inflating-tire systems on the market, but most of them are only available for commercial and military application.

Abstract

Fatigue is an important parameter to be considered in the behavior of mechanical components subjected to constant and variable amplitude loading. Mechanical, metallurgical and environmental variables can influence the fatigue resistance of a structural component. The number of cycles that a metal can endure before it breaks is a complex function of the static and cyclic stress values, the alloy, heat-treatment and surface condition of the material, the hardness profile of the material, impurities in the material, the type of load applied, the operating temperature, and several other factors. Various materials are subjected to different notch sizes and tested under bending loading for their endurance limit. These results obtained are then compared with their respective theoretical values obtained by The Modified Manson Coffin Curve Method. Keywords: fatigue life, Mason-Caffin method, notched specimen, stress-life curve.

Abstract This paper describes the use of ANSYS software for the replacement of the conventional stainless steel material of Liquid Petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder by a low density composite material named E Glass Epoxy for reducing the cylinders weight. In lieu of this, Finite element analysis package ANSYS has been used on composite cylinder subjected to an internal pressure. A case has been developed to study the stresses due to Pressure loading inside the cylinder designed as per ASME standards. The results of stresses for steel cylinders were compared with the analytical solution available in the literature in order to validate the model and the software. The weight reductions were presented for steel, composites LPG cylinders and the variation of stresses throughout the cylinder made of steel and composites were studied. The current Indian Gas supply system makes the transportation of cylinders arduous due to the difficulty in moving the heavy stainless steel cylinders around the house for housewives. An alternative is required, which can produce the same result with less weight, that is, for the same amount of gas stored inside the cylinder the weight of the cylinder is reduced. The above project is a small step towards a user friendly concept taking into consideration practicality, utility as well as safety. Keywords: ANSYS software, LPG, ASME.

Abstract

This research paper aims to undertake a comprehensive study of the battery operated rickshaws. Auto rickshaws are small, three-wheeled vehicles which are used extensively in many Asian countries for transport of people and goods. The vehicles are small and narrow allowing for easy manoeuvrability in congested Asian metropolises. In India, auto rickshaws are commonly used as taxis, as they are very inexpensive to operate. Despite the apparent advantages in the vehicle design, auto rickshaws present a huge pollution problem in major Indian cities. This is due to the use of an inefficient engine, typically a 2 or 4 stroke, with almost no pollution control. This paper presents a transportation system based on auto rickshaws that operate in an environmentally friendly way. Existing vehicles are to be replaced by an all-electric counterpart redesigned in a manner which improves the efficiency of the vehicle. Thus far, we have looked at the existing Vehicle and the environment, in which it operates, produced a Prototype electric vehicle. Abstract

Composite laminates like CFRP and GFRP are used in many applications in industries like aerospace and aircraft due to their extremely high strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance properties. Welding can’t be done for fastening the composite laminates with other metallic component. It can be joined by using bolt. But drilling a hole in composite laminates is a big challenge, because drilling induces damage such as delamination, fiber pull out, fiber push out etc. which give rise to the failure of material. Literature review provided a solution for it, Abrasive Waterjet Technology suited best for the given problem. It is one of the most recently developed advance non-traditional method used in the industry for cutting, drilling, milling, peening etc. The best advantage of udsing AWJ method is that it provides, no-thermal distortion, high machining versatility, high flexibility and small cutting forces. Since every method is not a perfect method. AWJM also induces damage such as delamination, consequently a poor quality of hole is obtained at the entry and exit of the drilled CFRP. According to the research conducted by researchers, the reduction in the jet diameter or decreasing the water pressure can reduce delamination. The literature review provided the consequences among the various process parameters which affects the drilling quality and is solved with the help of various technique. This work uses advance optimization techniques like ANN (Artificial Neural Network), ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) Keywords: Abrasive Waterjet Machining, drilling on CFRP, Delamination, ANN and ANFIS.

Abstract

This paper presents the development of an associate degree, “Electric Bicycle System” with an innovative approach. The aim of this paper is to show that the normal bi-cycle can be upgraded to electric one by some means– that including the development of a regenerative braking system and innovative BLDC motor control – but also uses real- time sensing and the powers of crowd sourcing to improve the cycling experience; get more people riding bikes; and to aid in the design and development of cities. Electric bikes have simultaneously gained popularity in many regions of the world and some have suggested that it could provide an even higher level of service compared to existing systems. There are several challenges that are related electric cycle design: electric- assisted range, recharging protocol and battery checkout procedures. This paper outlines system requirements to successfully develop and deploy an electric cycle, focusing on system architecture, operational concepts, and battery management. Although there is little empirical evidence, electric cycle could be feasible, depending on demand and battery management, and can potentially improve the utility of existing cycle systems. Keywords: BLDC Motor, Dynamo, Throttle, Circuit, Lead-acid Batteries.

Abstract

Two wheelers are the most economical way of transport. Owning to this, there has been an increase in the number of two wheelers especially on Indian roads which has led to increasing number of accidents and fatality. Also lately there has been an increase in the pollution levels which has led to global warming. Keeping in mind the above problems, an integrated system was designed which will ensure the safety of riders as well as the environment. The integrated design consists of an automatic stand side retrieval, a smart helmet and a pollution sensing device. The components are integrated in such a way that the engine of the two-wheeler will start only when the helmet is worn. As soon as the helmet is worn and the engine is started, the side stand will be retrieved automatically. Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies have been emerged as a fabrication method to obtain engineering components within a short span of time. Desktop 3D printing, also referred as additive layer manufacturing technology is one of the powerful method of rapid prototyping (RP) technique that fabricates three-dimensional engineering components. In this method, 3D digital CAD data is converted directly to a product. In the present investigation, ABS + hydrous magnesium silicate composite was considered as the starting material. Mechanical properties of ABS + hydrous magnesium silicate composite material were evaluated. ASTM D638 and ASTM D760 standards were followed for carrying out tensile and flexural tests, respectively. Samples with different layer thickness and printing speed were prepared. Based on the experimental results, it is suggested that low printing speed, and low layer thickness has resulted maximum tensile and flexural strength, as compared to all the other process parameters samples. Abstract

This study identify the problem occurs during turning which involves more component rejection due to surface roughness. The objective of this paper is to obtain the optimal setting of turning process parameters in order to reduce the rejection rate during machining. Initially, the various problems that occur in the components during machining are investigated. The investigation is done with the help of Quality Assurance department in a manufacturing industry. During investigation, it is found that the main reason of rejection is surface roughness which occur in component is due to wrong CNC parameter. The process parameters considered for study purpose are- cutting speed, depth of cut, feed rate at three levels and required output is surface roughness. To obtain the optimal process parameter combination, optimization is carried out by the Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio analysis of Taguchi method using L9 Orthogonal Array. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to present the influence of process parameters on surface roughness. Results obtained by Taguchi method and by ANOVA method, are compared and found that they match closely with each other. In this way, the optimum levels of process parameters can be predicted. Finally it is concluded that, in order to reduce the rejection rate due to surface roughness, the best process parameter combination which is derived through this study must be followed during the production process. This works involves a case study of largest manufacturer of stainless steel long products which mostly uses 304L and 316L stainless grade of SS. Abstract

Sustainable packaging in the FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) market is moving from being purely cost driven towards a strategic approach of resource management. The principal purpose of packaging continues to be maintaining the safety, wholesomeness, and quality. The large growing middle class, liberalization and organized retail sector are the catalysts to growth in packaging. The key packaging materials are glass, metal, plastics, paper, laminates, co-extrusion and bio-degradable polymers. Being a cost-sensitive market, the pressure for FMCG companies to reduce packaging costs in India is strong. In the past 5-6 years the market for sustainable packaging in India was driven primarily by cost reduction, however, moving forward corporations are now placing more thought leadership into their sustainable packaging plans across the value chain. Indeed, packaging plays an essential role for FMCG businesses in meeting consumer needs and preventing waste by protecting products for proper consumption. The fast selling and low margin products have a high production and consumption rate, as well as, an extensive distribution network that demands large amount of paper/plastic/glass and metal. Sustainable packaging ultimately is the practice of ensuring any material waste from packaged products never leaves the value chain, as well as, uses material with little to zero environmental harm. Abstract

In today’s highly competitive markets high quality is critical for sustaining competitive advantage. Manufacturers can achieve higher levels of quality by changing their manufacturing process and/or by product inspection where a multitude of different strategies are often available. Continuous quality improvement is a key factor in the strategy for competitiveness. Quality cost is one tool, among many others, that can help in continuous quality improvement. In order to improve quality, an organization must take into account the costs associated with achieving quality since the objective of continuous improvement programs is not only to meet customer requirements, but also to do it at the lowest possible cost. It is often claimed by various researchers that the cost of quality stands for 10 to 40 percent of the company´s turnover, which is why it is important to measure and monitor COQ.This paper discusses recall of vehicles in India because of faulty design leading to heavy loss for the companies, accounting this cost of recall as quality cost. Automotive sector and the companies need to rethink and spend more time at the design and development phase where the problems could be envisaged in advance to avoid the quality cost. Six Sigma philosophy of building quality into process, service and products, can lower the cost of quality and therefore overall cost.A widely used rule of thumb says if a defect costs $100 to fix in the field it would only cost $10 to fix in your facility and only $1 to prevent, so in this case an ounce of prevention is greater than the pound of cure. This means in the manufacturing process we want to stop defects before they are created. The Six Sigma capability and SPC tools can stop the defects before they are created and reduce the COPQ by allowing maintenance to move toward a predictive model instead of a reactive one. Keywords: Cost of Quality, Cost of Quality Models, Automobile Recalls, Six Sigma.

Abstract

Environmental Pollution is a topic of great concern in the present conditions prevailing in the rural as well as urban India. There are different types of environmental pollution such as air, water, noise, soil etc. these pollution types pose a great threat to the human life as well as of the flora and fauna. Amongst them, water pollution is a serious problem witnessed in the developing regions where a large number of small scale industries, medium scale industries as well as large scale industries are in operation. The effluents from these industries contain different types of pollutants and thus the effluent should be properly treated in an ETP so that it can be discharged into the natural streams safely. And also as per the Water Act of 1974 and its subsequent amendment in 1988 these industries were compelled to meet the stringent effluent discharge norms set up by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the State Pollution Control Board (SPCBs). However such ETPs cannot be afforded by each and every individual small or medium scale industries due to the heavy cost. Thus the need for a CETP i.e. Common Effluent Treatment Plant was felt. Abstract

This paper deals with the making of the biocomposite material which can replace the composite materials that are made from petroleum products. The bio-composite materials are made from natural materials which eco-friendly and can be easily used. Composite materials (also called composition materials or shortened to composites) are materials made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties, that when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual components. The individual components remain separate and distinct within the finished structure. The new material may be preferred for many reasons: common examples include materials which are stronger, lighter or less expensive when compared to traditional materials. In the last decades, the use of natural fibers as reinforcement in polymeric composites for technical application has been a research subject of scientist. Interest in natural fibers has increased worldwide due to their low cost, low density, hardness, and higher fatigue endurance, good thermal and mechanical resistivity and to their environmental friendliness. The Asian markets have been using natural fibers for many years e.g., jute is a common reinforcement in India. Natural fibers are increasingly used in automotive and packaging materials. India is an agricultural country and it is the main stay of Indian economy. Thousands of tons of different crops are produced but most of their wastes do not have any useful utilization. Agricultural wastes include wheat husk, rice husk, and their straw, hemp fiber and shells of various dry fruits. These wastes can be used to prepare fiber reinforced polymer composites for commercial use. Keywords: Petroleum, fibres, waste

Abstract

Energy is wasted each day due to lack of awareness among the industrial staff across the globe. Past research suggest that there are two main energy conservation methods – technological advancements and behavioral approach. Technological breakthroughs are based on instruments such as motion sensor control lighting, new innovative energy savings and LEDs etc. Behavioral approach requires changes in human attitudes by using motivation, raising awareness, commitment and skill developing. This paper intends to explore the roles of behavioral approach in promoting energy conservation through raising energy awareness. A conceptual framework of energy awareness development process was proposed based on the authors experience and research in industrial complexes, with reference of Japanese firms. The focus of the paper is towards identifying the ways and means of engaging plant employees in bringing commitment towards energy savings and giving ideas towards improvement, four categories of employees were observed in this study namely dinosaurs, rats on wheel, cynical and stars. Identification of these employees and taking corrective action can bring everlasting impact in both short and long term. Usage of daily monitoring of key energy parameters by using dashboards also plays a key role in motivating the employees towards energy savings and relating it to dollar value is an added advantage. The long term motivation such as senior management team recognition, personal pride and energy award should be introduced to the receivers so they can continuously practice energy conservation. Finally the paper explains that validations are required to determine the effectiveness of the conceptual framework and to identify desired improvement. Keywords: Energy Conservation, Behavioral Approach and Energy Awareness Development Process

Abstract

Cooling system is one of the important systems of study. It is responsible to carry large amount of heat waste to surroundings. The heat transfer through radiator can be improved by maximizing the heat transfer area and increasing the heat transfer coefficient. The heat transfer coefficient can be increased either by using more efficient heat transfer methods or by improving the thermo physical properties of the heat transfer material i.e. coolant. Earlier, Water was widely used in radiator as a coolant for its good ability to holding heat, transfer heat and can be readily obtained. Also the mixture of water & ethylene glycol later introduced as a coolant. Both of them having certain merits & demerits. With the advancement of nanotechnology, the new generation of heat transfer fluids called, “Nanofluids” have been developed and researchers found that these fluids offer higher thermal conductivity compared to that of conventional coolants. Nanofluids which consist of a carrier liquid, such as water, ethylene glycol dispersed with tiny nano-scale particles known as nanoparticles. This review paper deals with the study and fabrication of the existing cooler modified with a radiator through which refrigerant fluids of nanoparticles are passed. Keywords: Heat Transfer Enhancement, Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes, Nanofluid and Nanoparticles.

Abstract

According to the first and second laws of thermodynamics, it’s also an unavoidable byproduct of appliances like air conditioners and fridges. “The first law states that energy is neither created nor destroyed,” says Buongiorno. “If one joule of energy goes into a machine that operates steadily, one joule of energy must come out.” Refrigerators and air conditioners take in electricity to extract heat from orange juice and ice cream and sweltering living rooms, and that’s where the Second Law comes into play: The energy expelled in the form of waste heat has a lower utility than the original energy source. “The sum of the heat extracted plus the work that went into the cooling process is discharged in the form of waste heat, and there must be a temperature difference between the machine and the ambient air in order to drive that heat out.” So, here in our project we will use the waste heat to heat the foods etc and cooling compartment will be used for cooling water etc. This invention relates to a refrigeration unit and more particularly refers to a new and improved dual temperature refrigerator. Abstract

This paper presents an experimental study of LPG environment-friendly refrigerants with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and negligible global warming potential (GWP), to replace R134a in domestic refrigerator. A refrigerator designed and developed to work with R134a was tested, and its performance using LPG was evaluated and compared with its performance when R134a was used. The results obtained showed that the design temperature and pull-down time set by International Standard Organisation (ISO) for small refrigerator were achieved earlier using refrigerant LPG and R134a than using R32. The average coefficient of performance (COP) obtained using LPG is 4.7% higher than that of R134a while average COP of R32 is 8.5% lower than that of R134a. The system consumed less energy when LPG was used. The performance of LPG in the domestic refrigerator was Constantly better than those of R134a and R32 throughout all the operating conditions, which shows that LPG can be used as replacement for R134a in domestic refrigerator. Abstract

The sun is an outstanding energy source for mankind. It is clean and comes to the earth for free. In recent years, increasing attention is being given to the use of waste heat and solar energy in energizing refrigerating systems. Solar powered refrigeration and air-conditioning have been very attractive during the last twenty years, since the availability of sunshine and the need for refrigeration both reach maximum levels in the same season. Conventional cooling technologies are generally based on the electrically driven refrigeration system. These systems have several disadvantages: they require high levels of primary energy consumption, causing electricity peak loads and employ refrigerants with negative environmental impacts. Solar adsorption refrigeration is an option to overtake the drawbacks of the conventional cooling system. The adsorption refrigeration is based on the evaporation and condensation of a refrigerant combined with adsorption. This project will describes the design and fabrication of the experimental chamber, the experimental procedure and its feasibility towards development of an alternative eco-friendly refrigeration cycle for replacement of chlorofluorocarbons. The objective of this project is to establish an alternative eco-friendly refrigeration cycle for producing a temperature usually encountered in a conventional refrigerator. By manufacturing such type of refrigerator adds new dimension to the world of refrigeration. This refrigerator gives some amount of relief to the refrigeration world by making it independent of electric power supply and zero running cost. Keywords: Adsorbent, Refrigerant, waste exhaust gas, Adsorption, air-conditioning.

Abstract

Nuclear reactor generates heat which is used to generate electricity. Heat is produced by nuclear fission controlled reaction of U-235 at temperature ranges of 5500C - 20000C. According to first law of thermodynamics “Energy cannot be created nor be destroyed, it can only be converted one form into another form”. Albert .E. Einstein proposed a law E=MC2 ,where mass ‘M’ of U-235 is converted into energy ‘E’ by bombardment of neutron travelling at speed of light ‘C’. The energy in form of heat produced is used to convert water into steam then produce electricity. The heat produced can cause thermal stresses in shell and tube. At a phase of shut down the power produced is only due to radioactive decay of nucleoid forms after bombardment of neutron. Neutrons have half-life of the 1000 second, after achieving saturation it emits continuous radiation of radioactive material. The decay power constituted 7% of total power produced by nuclear power plant. The production of radioactive materials violates the philosophy of level 3 & level 4 of defence in depth. So to prevents contamination of radioactive materials and production of decay power, ECCS (Emergency core cooling system) and ESF (Engineered safety feature) is designed to remove the decay heat under pipe break event and bring the increased fuel temperature to coolant temperature in present work it is planned to design an experimental setup to study the adequacy of ECCS injection to remove the decay power and cool the fuel pin simulator. As the test section temperature will be within 500oC hence the design will be done within elastic limit. Keywords: Nucleioid, Defence in depth, Bellow, Shell & Tube, Thermal Expansion.

Abstract

A Go Kart is a four-wheel vehicle designed and meant for racing purposes only (though in some countries it is used for fun personal uses). It is a small four-wheeler run on Electric Motor. It is a racing vehicle made on a smaller scale or is made to give the feel of the racing cars. Go Kart is not a factory-made product; it can be made by any Automobile or Mechanical students. This report describes the process and methodology to a low-cost gokart. Simple but innovative. We are reviewing the data in various papers about go-karts. We will review various electric types of go-karts. We have kept our focus majorly on eco-friendly (Solar) karts and the data presented in the papers. One of the front runners in the area of renewable energy resources today is solar power. Photovoltaic cells are used to convert solar energy in to useful electrical energy. The objective of this paper is to construct an efficient solar Go-kart, for the daily commuters so that they can travel a short distance that they need to commute every day on a reliable and economical Go-kart that essentially runs on free renewable solar energy. The paper illustrates how the charge generated by an array of solar panels is received and its flow in and out of a battery pack is to be controlled using a microcontroller based charge controller to ensure efficient storing of charge in a battery pack. The stored energy would be divulged to a DC motor which would run the car.

Abstract

In traditional steering mechanism involves traditional steering principle. Its advantage is that it is very safe and even prime the propensity and balance of vehicle at very high immediacy. But it can't be used at highly sharp steers (i.e. steers at where vehicle has to rotate about an angle of 90 degree) or at steers where there is not enough space for the car or automobile to rotate. This that is arduousness connected with the traditional procedure of steering is completely replaced by installing a four wheel steering mechanism. Four wheel steering is a comparatively new technology, that imposes transport propensity in little cars, sedan, SUV, heavy duties and other .In normal two wheels steering vehicles, the rear mounted of wheels are consistently place forward therefore and do not involves an engaging the function in regulating the steering in four wheel steering mechanism the back wheel can steer left and right. To carry on the driving regulation as without any difficulty as possible. The forklift cornering will conduct itself become not easily upset and controllable at greater immediacy as well as on wet less gripped road surfaces. The vehicle reaction to steering input becomes faster and more accurate from starting to end the vehicle enter immediacy range. By moving the rear wheels in the prolongation further side the front wheels at slow immediacy, the car’s steering circle is greatly made little. This action of the wheels enables the vehicle to steer circular, without moving from the position, i.e. the forklift has zero steering radius.

Abstract

Due to the problems caused by the gasoline engine on the environment and people, the automotive industry has turned to the electrical powered vehicle. But in electric vehicles the major work is, more time required to get the vehicle fully charge and it’s necessary to provide a supply to the battery after certain time. The only source in electric vehicle is battery to run the vehicle, so recharging of battery is necessary frequently, nowadays the electric vehicles couldn’t possibly run for long distance on the road because of less charging stations and requires much more time to recharge. Hence our motto is to charge the battery while vehicle in running condition. On this topic from the world automotive electric industries are working together to solve this particular problem. If we notice about the pollution from the current gasoline engine is harmful to the environment and also for human beings. If we compare the gasoline engine vehicles with electric vehicles, people always prefer to gasoline engine vehicles because of power and abilities. Hence our mission is to fulfil the requirements to turn the people towards electric vehicles. Keywords: GMB, Electric Vehicle, Gasoline Engine

2Faculty of Engineering Pacific University, Udaipur [email protected]

Abstract:

Scheduling is a term which we used in our day to day life. It is a plan prepared for smooth conduction of any activity. Schedule gives us the answer of the question ‘when’. In industries scheduling plays an important role for getting maximum output using available resources and raw material. One of the important tasks is designing model to understand the schedule and finding the solution for the problem. There are several methods of machine scheduling which are often used in production. A model may be of single machine or multiple machine models. Depending on number of machines the optimization techniques are developed and used. In this paper we have tried to compare the different methods of machine scheduling. In scheduling problems there are two common types of constraints. One of the constraints is limitations of number of machines and another is restriction of jobs performed on machines. Depending on this factors the various methods of scheduling like Gantt chart method, Johnson’s rule, Proposed method, Palmers heuristic method etc. are discussed in this paper and tried to find the effective method for optimization problem. Key words- Machine scheduling, Gantt chart, Johnson’s rule, branch and bound technique, proposed method, Palmers heuristic

Abstract

The 2,6-diacetyl pyridine-2-furoyl salicyldihydrazone Schiff base synthesized and reacted with LnCl3,the molecular formula [Ln(H2dapfhsh)Cl(H2O)2]Cl has been established for the complexes from analytical molar conductance data. Based on the results and discussion given below,it is concluded that the complexes have 1:1 metal- ligand stoichiometry. The hydrazone is bonded to the metal ions in tetradentate fashion through the carbonyl oxygen, azomethine nitrogens and pyridine nitrogen. A coordination number seven around the Ln (III) ion is evident from stoichiometry of the complexes and also from electronic spectra of the Nd (III) complex. Thus, a pentagonal bipyramidal structure proposed for the complex.
