The further adventures of Bob & Beth Vol. 35 No. 3 July 2015 Dr. & Mrs. Chick, C/O TWR, P.O. Box 3700, Cary, NC 27512-8700 Office: (919) 460-3700 Email: [email protected] Web: http://www.twr.org/global_staff/chick/; http://bobandbeth.wordpress.com Deputation Report The Lord provides, Jehovah Jirah. We had a deputation trip planned and set out on the road to see our God work in and through us (and in spite of us). May saw us drive to Nashville to see dear old friends and supporters. In Memphis we visited one of our churches and Miss Sue. Then due to a miscommunication, we headed straight to Kansas City. It was sad to miss some dear folks, but since Bob developed pneumonia we saw the Lord provide a good place to land, rest and recover. (Thanks Marcia and Jeff!) Our time at the Blue Ridge missions conference was a blessing (as always). Then on to St. Louis, Henderson, Shelbyville and finally Lexington, where it all started. It was a joy to go back to where the Lord first called us, commissioned us and led us to serve Him around the world. We stayed with our dear friends Dick and Sheryl, who hosted a reunion for us. The old gang was back together again for the evening. We have all aged (30+ years) both in the Lord and glorifying His name. Were so thankful for the faithful support, prayers, and concern weve had from this group of people. The Lord gave us safety, joy and fun in odd places (Henderson, an art museum with Marcia and visiting grandbabies). He added to our support and brought us back home to work with TWR speaking HOPE to the world. Yay God! HaZard to Cary In May we were excited to have Evan, Adrianne, Penelope and Liam move into our little two-bedroom apartment. The Lord provided Evan a job in just a couple of days, PTL. They enjoyed the space of the apartment while we were on deputation. After our return they were able to move into their own apartment in Cary close to our home. Its exciting to see the grandchildren more often and get to know them better as they get to know us. Cary to Myrtle Beach While Bob was speaking Geek at the global IT meetings, Beth took an opportunity to join Joel and his family at Myrtle Beach for a few days. What a blast with the children and grandchildren in the fun and sun of the coast. Bob was sad to miss the gathering of extended family but the meetings were scheduled over a year ago. Hopefully next time they get a house by the beach, Bob can come along to enjoy the family gathering. Were thankful the Lord provided a second car (thanks, Mom) so Beth could scoot to the beach. Global IT/IS Meetings Once again we held global meetings in the Cary office. We also combined with the Global Technical Team for one day of meetings. Coworkers from Africa, Singapore, Guam and (remotely) from Holland discussed all the needs, plans and status of IT and IS for the TWR global ministry. It was also fun to spend one evening introducing colleagues from Africa, Singapore, the U.K. and Germany to the fun of an American baseball game. I took the

We have all aged (30+ years) both in the Lord and glorifying His name. We’re so thankful for the faithful support, prayers, and concern we’ve had from this group of people.

Support We’re thrilled and thankful we reached 77% of our

monthly support need during our deputation travels. We’re excited to see how God will provide in the months ahead. It’s been a while since our support increased, and there will be an increase in required support this coming January by 2.5%. Just so you know what’s coming.

Thanks Be to God! We have some new supporters and reached a

    new milestone!

Furlough / deputation 2015 went well.

Summer is here and the pool is open.

Work on the European Operations Network is hopefully starting July 1st.

Thankful that some grandchildren are now living in this area.

Prayer Requests Continued prayer for our support need.

Pray for wisdom to deal with the need for IT administration assistance in Europe to rebuild the Operations Distribution Network from my remote location.

Pray for current projects in the Cary office. ------------------

Your Skills Needed in Missions Impending retirements, reassignments and TWR’s global outreach expansion are driving a demand for more laborers in the harvest fields. Therefore, TWR is looking for people who are administratively, artistically & technically minded to serve as missionaries so people in places like Afghanistan, Cuba and North Korea can continue to hear the gospel. Specifically, we are in need of antenna riggers, accountants, station and business managers, graphic designers, recruiters, engineers, technicians and so much more. Please see our newly updated Web page (www.twr.org/serve) for specific job listings, an extensive list of FAQs and an Opportunities page with filters for personalizing the search process. There is a wide range of service categories available, including internships, short term (three to twelve months), midterm (two to three years), and career. If you can’t help, maybe you know someone who can! Please pass the word ! ---------------------
