SOCIETY (USINDO)
TRAVEL GRANTS
The United States-Indonesia Society (USINDO) awards
grants of up to $2,000 to fund travel to Indonesia or to the
United States.
These grants are awarded to promote academic and other
exchanges between the two countries. USINDO Travel
Grants are open to U.S. and Indonesian citizens seeking to
travel to Indonesia or the United States to conduct field
research or other professional projects, including
conferences.

TAIWAN FELLOWSHIP
The Taiwan Fellowship was established by the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs (MOFA) for foreign experts and scholars in social sciences
and humanities with specialization in topics relating to Taiwan,
Cross-Strait relations, mainland China, and the Asia-Pacific
region. The award was designed to allow scholars the opportunity
to conduct advanced research at universities or academic
Institutions in Taiwan.
Candidates should be professors, associate professors, assistant
professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or
doctoral students currently working or enrolled in universities or
academic. Research fellows in academic institutions are also
welcome to apply.

Oak Ridge Association of Universities (ORAU) –
a consortium of research universities - has partnered with
the Australian Government to seek U.S. and Canadian
applicants for Australia’s Endeavour Scholarships and
Fellowships, an internationally competitive, merit-based
scholarship program that provides up to $272,500 (total
program funding) Australian dollars (~$213,295) for study,
research or professional development opportunities
between Australia and the world.

2015 EMERALD/CLADEA LATIN
AMERICAN MANAGEMENT
RESEARCH FUND AWARD
Emerald Group Publishing in partnership with the Consejo Latino-
americano de Escuela de Administración (CLADEA) is promoting
the 2015 Emerald/CLADEA Management Research Fund Award.
Any researcher is eligible to apply, provided that the proposal
pertains, and is of benefit, to Latin America. A project proposal
must be submitted by one author or by one research group
affiliated to at least one institution based in Latin America or the
Caribbean. The main author must have Latin American or
Caribbean nationality. Each author or research group may submit
ONLY one project proposal.
Researchers will also have the opportunity to have their findings
published in one of Emeralds’ many research titles.

UNITED STATES-INDIA
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
ENDOWMENT FUND
The fund aims to select and financially support promising joint U.S.
-India entrepreneurial initiatives that address the theme of
“commercializing technologies for societal impact” through a
competitive grants program. Proposals must include a minimum of
one partner from each country.
The program is divided into two broad categories:
Healthy Individuals: Supports the development of affordable
biomedical devices, diagnostic/preventive/ curative measures, or
food and nutrition products to improve health.
Empowering Citizens: Supports efforts to reduce the digital/
technology divide. This could include information and communica-
tion technologies with societal impact.

ABE FELLOWSHIP: International
Multidisciplinary Research Topics
of Pressing Global Concern To U.S.
& Japanese Scholars
The Abe Fellowship is designed to encourage international multidiscipli-
nary research on topics of pressing global concern. The program seeks
to foster the development of a new generation of researchers who are
interested in policy-relevant topics of long-range importance and who
are willing to become key members of a bilateral and global research
network built around such topics. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or
terminal degree in their field or have the equivalent level of professional
training at the time of application.
The program promotes intellectual cooperation between the Japanese
and American academic and professional communities committed to and
trained for advancing global understanding and problem solving. The
Abe Fellowship is sponsored by The Social Science Research Council
(SSRC), an independent, nonprofit international organization. Fellowship
awards are contingent upon receipt by The SSRC of funding from the
Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership.

National Endowment for the
Humanities (NEH) and the American
Council of Learned Societies
(ACLS) FELLOWSHIPS
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the
American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) have set aside
special funding for fellowships to be designated among the
successful applicants to the central ACLS Fellowship competition
in order to encourage humanistic research in area studies.
Scholars pursuing research and writing on the societies and
cultures of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the
Caribbean, Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union will be
eligible for these special fellowships. The fellowships are intended
as salary replacement to help scholars devote six to 12 continuous
months to full-time research and writing. This fellowship may be
held concurrently with other fellowships and grants and any
sabbatical pay, up to an amount equal to the candidate's current
academic year salary.

GLOBAL SCIENCE FOR PEACE AND
SECURITY PROGRAMME:
MULTI-YEAR R&D PROJECTS
The Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme,
sponsored by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO),
seeks to enhance cooperation and dialogue with all partners
through civil science and innovation. The SPS Programme offers
grants for collaborative research and development projects,
workshops, institutes, and training involving scientists from NATO
nations and partner countries. SPS funds activities relevant to
NATO's strategic objectives which address SPS Key Priorities.
Applications must be submitted jointly by an expert residing and
working in a NATO country and one residing and working in a
NATO partner country. Additional NATO-nation and/or partner-
country experts may also be included in the application.

ATENEO/ATENEO CALL
The Ateneo Call is a special program of Ecuador’s Secretariat of
Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation within the
Prometeo Project. The goal is to temporarily fulfill the faculty
needs of Higher Education Institutions in order to contribute to
Ecuador's development in specialized fields of knowledge: Life
Sciences, Basic Sciences, Production and Innovation, Natural
Resources, Educational Sciences, Social Sciences, Art and
Culture. The Ateneos are Ecuadorian or foreign high level experts
(Ph.D. or Masters) with a broad experience in teaching activities,
who reside abroad and arrive to Ecuador to develop academic
projects and transfer their knowledge at universities and
polytechnic schools (public or co-financed), and technical and
technological institutes.
