Global Dimensions – why carry out a Global curriculum project?
It’s great for students to be
exposed to cultural
differences
It offers a valuable opportunity to
change values and attitudes for
tomorrow’s leaders and decision
makers
It increases students Global awareness
and helps them realise that we are all members of a world community.
Global Dimensions
I got students thinking about what their Global image would be?
Students in Backwell and Angereb were asked to complete a diversity line
students completed a ‘base line’ knowledge questionnaire about Ethiopia
Global Dimensions
Students filled in a ‘passport’ about themselves and we exchanged these with students at Angereb.
This threw up a lot of issues e.g. ‘I have HIV’ which we were then able to discuss. We spent some time looking at similarities before highlighting the differences.
Global Dimensions
We had a movie of questions from Angereb which we used to generate our own questions and film students.

Our Water Use
Our Water Supply
We did lots of research into where our water comes from (Wessex water came in to give a talk) and then we collected data about our individual/family water use
