Seed Grants for International Activities
• Since 2001, we have funded 180 innovative programs aimed at advancing knowledge, enriching student learning and solving society’s most pressing problems. Total seed grant funding of over $1,700,000 has generated over $40,000,000 in external funds
• 1:1 matching funding from the dean is required. Depending on matching funds, the total grant amount could be $30,000.
• The annual call and deadline is in fall quarter.
• All recipients will be required to attend an on-campus workshop organized jointly with Global Affairs and the Office of Research that will offer assistance in articulating faculty research interests and identifying which agencies they want to meet with in order to secure external funding.
• A trip to Washington D.C., organized jointly with the UC Federal Governmental Relations Office, will provide an opportunity for faculty to meet with relevant federal agencies, to present their research and learn about the agencies' priorities.
• UC Davis Academic Senate faculty members and Academic Federation faculty with PI status are eligible to apply. All UC Davis locations are eligible.
