    LESSON NO.1Allah

By this lesson it is known that Allah alone is the Creator and Lord of each

and every thing of the universe. He created Mankind, Angels, Jin (Genii), Animals and

trees. The earth, sky, sun, moon, stars, mountains, sea and oceans etc are existed by His

commands. He is the creator of the universe. He is the cherisher, He feeds every one. He

is the ruler. He rules upon the universe. He watches our actions and deeds. He will

reward for our good deeds and will punish for our bad deeds on the Day of Judgment.

Hence we should follow the commands of Allah at the time of eating,

drinking, reading, writing, talking, playing and sleeping.

    LESSON NO.2Angel

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    2/22

Allah says that every one has two angels with him. They are always withthe person and note his every good and bad deed in his record book.

It is known from Quran that on the Dooms Day one angel among the two

will drive a person towards the court of Allah and the second angel will carry his recordbook.

The man who will be found culprit and sinful, Allah will order to throw

him in the Hell and put him in severe chastisement (Surah 50 Qaf 24 to 26).

    LESSON NO.3

The Messengers and the ProphetsAllah selects some people to convey His messages and commandments to

the public. These people are called Messengers or Prophets. They follow the commands

of Allah and persuade the public to obey the commandments of Allah and follow him.

All the Messengers and Prophets taught only about Islam.

    LESSON NO.4Hadrat Adam(Alayhis Salam)

Allah says, O people! Fear your Lord Who created you from a single

being and out of it created its mate; and out of the two spread many men and women----

    ------(Surah 4 Al-Nisa-1)

Single being means Hadrat Adam (A S) and its mate means Hadrat

Hawwa (Eve) (AlayhasSalam). Many men and women mean all the human beings of the

    world.

Allah created Hadrat Adam (A S) from the earth as the first man in the

world and the father of all the human beings and created Hadrat Hawwa (A S) from

    him.Summary

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    3/22

One who considers in this incident can learn that Allah forgives the man

who begs pardon with Him after committing a mistake, as He had forgiven Hadrat

Adam and Hawwa. The man who does not admit and denies his mistake, he spoils his

life of the world and the life of the Hereafter as Satan spoiled both of his lives.

    LESSON NO.5Hadrat Nuh(A S)

The offspring of Hadrat Adam (A S) moved away from the path of Allah and

get involved in polytheism after a period. Allah bestowed prophecy to Hadrat Nuh (A S)

and sent him as His messenger for the reformation of the people. Hadrat Nuh (A S) was

expounding the people for a long period, but very few people accepted his advice and

many of them remained disobedient. Gradually their disobedience increased and theybecame fearless with Allah. At last Allah decided to reveal His chastisement.Summary

Those who considers in this event, can learn that wisdom, skill, strength,

wealth and government etc, can neither save a man from the chastisement of Allah nor

prevent or subside it. Therefore we should save ourselves and others from the

    disobedience of Allah.

    LESSON NO.6

Hadrat Muhammad (Pboh)The birth of Hadrat Muhammad(Pboh)

On ninth (9th) of Rabiul Awwal, Monday that is on 20.04.571 morning

Hadrat Amina delivered a male child at the morning. Abdul Muttalib named the child

Muhammad. The meaning of Muhammed is very much praised. Allah favouredprophecy to Hadrat Muhammad (pboh) and he is the last messenger of Allah.

    LESSON NO.7

    Parents

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    4/22

Allah says in Quran, We have enjoined man to be kind to his parents. In

pain did his mother bear him and in pain did she give birth to him. (Surah 46 Al- Ahqaf-15)

    Your mother, your mother

A man asked Prophet (Pboh),with whom I must behave in the best way?

The Prophet (Pboh) said thrice, Your mother, your mother, your mother. The Prophet

(Pboh)said at the fourth time, your father has the right afterwards. (Bukhari & Muslim)

Though the father and the mother both took part to bring up a child, but

according to Quran and Hadith the mother has got more rights than the father. This is

because the mother carries the baby in her stomach and she bears the severe pain at the

time of child birth. That is why the Prophet (Pboh) has told that the Heaven is below the

mothers feet. It means that one who serves and pleases his mother and gets herblessings, Allah will give him Paradise.

    LESSON NO.8

    Satan is our enemy

The most disobedient and terrific enemy of human being is Satan. Satan

seduces people towards the disobedience of Allah. To save ourselves from the

naughtiness of Satan, Allah says, (O Muhammad) Tell my servants to say always thatwhich is best. Verily it is Satan who sows discord among people. Satan indeed is an

open enemy to mankind. (Surah 17 Bani Israil 53)

    LESSON NO.9

    Kalima Tayyiba and we people

    Kalima

Even in these days people are worshipping many things like the past.

Among them when some one wants to follow Hadrat Ibrahim (A S) that is if any one

embraces Islam, he is taught to recite the kalima -----------------------------.

The meaning of this verse is that No one is worthy to worship except

Allah and Hadrat Muhammad (Pboh)is His Prophet.

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    5/22

This shows that this kalima (verse) is the door to enter in Islam and it has

two parts. First part is------------------------- and the second part is --------------------------.

    ----------------------- :-

This phrase starts with---------- (no god). It means that the man, who enters

in Islam, follows the sunnat (way) of Hadrat Ibrahim (A S) and proclaims that there is

no god except Allah. He is my Creator. He is my Lord. He is my sustainer. He alone I

    worship.

    ---------------------- :-

The second phrase states that Hadrat Muhammad (Pboh) is the Prophet of

Allah. By this sentence the man witnesses that surely Hadrat Muhammad (Pboh) is theProphet of Allah and by his teachings I learned about Allah.

    LESSON NO.10

Iman and Kufr (Belief and disbelief)

    Faith on Allah

Believing Allah means that we should have faith that Allah is the creator of

the universe. He is alone. He has no companion. None is worthy to worship except He.

So nothing and nobody should be worshipped. He can give each and every thing, so

every thing should be asked only from Him. He is the Ruler of all, so He should be

submitted. The works and the things which He has forbidden should not be done. He is

very kind, so He should be loved. He is very strict in punishment, so He alone should

    be feared.

    LESSON NO.11

    Life after death

    Death of the universe

We know that daily a number of children are getting birth. Some of them

die and many elders are leaving this world. Every day animals breed many young ones

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    6/22

and many animals are slaughtered and many die. Grass, plants and trees are growing

but animals eat them or somebody cut off them. Any how death occurs to every thing.

Similarly a day will come when the death of all the people will occur. Earth, Heaven,

Sun, Moon, Mountains, Oceans and sea etc. will be abolished, that is the whole universe

    will die.

    LESSON NO.12

    Cleanness

    Affects on the body

The things we eat or drink when fell on our dress we see their affect on

them. Cleanness and dirtiness not only affect our dress but also affects our heart and

brain. A neat and tidy person always likes good people, good deeds and good

discourse. A dirty person likes bad people, bad deeds and bad talks. So we should keep

clean our body, dress, thoughts and place.

Cleanness is half of the faith

Allah says: --------Truly, Allah loves those who abstain from evil and keep

    themselves pure. (Surah 2 Al-Baqarah-222)

The Prophet (Pboh) has said that I am like a father to you. It is the duty

of a father to teach the etiquettes of life to children. Similarly it is my duty to teach and

train you. So the Prophet (Pboh) has guided us in every aspect of life. The Prophet (Pboh)

has told that cleanness is half of the faith.

    LESSON NO.13

    Benefits of education

    Summary

By this lesson it is known that those who want to get knowledge do not

care the hurdles, obstacles and problems. Knowledge gains by mental labor. The

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    7/22

student who gains more knowledge, he uses his mind in the best way. He struggles in

this life and gathers for the life to come. The world respects such type of man and runs

behind him but he never runs behind the world.

Adversely to this, the student who thinks reading and writing a boringjob, he becomes fit for only physical labor. Those who have poor knowledge can

perform a little mental work but have to do heavy physical work. Even thenthey do notget almond flummery. Such people spend their life only for bread, cloth and shelter.

They can not spare time to gather something (virtues) for the life to come.

    LESSON NO.14

    School

Allah says in Surat Al-Anam that a blind man that is an uneducated

man can not be alike a seeing man that is an educated man. Hence the Prophet (Pboh)

has said, Be either a teacher or a student. Any one is must for the people. The Prophet

(Pboh) has taught his companions and the companions taught many people. Like wise a

number of Islamic scholars were produced.

    LESSON NO.15

    Prayer

    Get the help from prayer

Some times we fall ill. Some times we can not inculcate lessons or dont

have the interest in reading or writing. To overcome with these problems, Allah says,

seek help with patience and prayer------------ (Surah-2, Al-Baqarah-45)

Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (RAA) says that once he was suffering from stomach

pain, the Prophet (Pboh)said, Stand up and pray because prayer is healing(Ibn Maja).

    LESSON NO.16

    Etiquettes of mosque

    Pray with Jamaat

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    8/22

Allah says, Establish Prayer and dispense zakat (the purifying Alms)and bow in worship with those who bow (surah2-Al-Baqarah-43).

Hadrat Abd Allah ibn Umar (RAA) narrates that the Prophet (Pboh) said,

Praying with the Jamaat (collectively) is twenty seven times superior from prayingalone. (Bukhari & Muslim)

    LESSON NO.17

    Invocations of Quran

Invoke the shelter of Allah to be safe from Satan

Every Muslim is a Dai (one who invites people towards the way of Allah)

and Satan is an obstacle in this way. Satan puts evil suggestions in the hearts of the

peoples and entangles them in various discussions, so that they could hate each other.

Allah says, (O Prophet!) Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and

avoid the ignorant. And if it happens that a prompting from Satan should stir you up,

    seek refuge with Allah------- (surah7-Al-Araf199 & 200)

At the time of Dawat and Tabligh (inviting the people towards Allah and

conveying the message of Islam) or in the personnel matters, if we get anger because of

the naughtiness, rude behavior or harsh words of the opponent, we should understand

that it is because of Satan. So we have to invoke Allah with this invocation.

Invocation of sinners on Dooms Day

Allah narrates in many surahs about the condition of Dooms Day. He says

about sinners: The fire shall scorch their faces, exposing their jaws. (Surah23-Al-Muminun

    104)

Mawlana Shabbir Ahmad Uthmani (Rh AA) has written that the body willswell due to fire. The bottom lip will hang up to the navel (abdomen) and the upper lip

will reach up to the head. The tongue will be hanging out side.

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    9/22

Allah has taught many invocations to save us from the fire of Hell. -----------------------------------------------------Meaning: - My Lord! Forgive us and have mercy on

us, for You are the Best of those that are merciful (Surah23-Al-Muminun118).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Meaning: - ---- Our Lord! We do indeed believe, so forgive us our sins and keep us

safe from the chastisement of the fire. (Surah 3- Al-Imran 16)-

    LESSON NO.18

Invocations of the Prophet(Pboh)All the Invocations of the Prophet (Pboh) can be divided in to three parts.

    1) The first part is consisted of the invocations related to the prayer or after prayer.

    2) The second part is consisted of the invocations related to particular times or

    situations.

    3) The third part does not consist with any particular time or situation. This can be

    invoked at any time.

Seeking divine guidance and fear of Allah

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meaning: - O Allah! I seek with you divine guidance, fear of Allah, chastity and

    contentment.

Mawlana Manzur Numani has written in the commentary of this Hadith that we ask

    four things from Allah

    a) Divine guidance to follow the right path.b) Fear of Allah to be away from sins.c) Chastity and purity.d) Contentment that is the feeling of satisfaction in any case what Allah has given.

    SLESSON.NO.1

    Allah is one

From this verse we came to know that they are liars who say that Allah is faraway from us. So we make the idols and virtuous people a means to convey our prayers and

entreaties to Allah. The fact is that Allah is nearer to the extent that He hears the call of the

caller and helps him. He doesnt mind whether the caller is obedient or disobedient. He has

permitted each and every human being to call Him during the twenty four hours of the day

and night. One can tell his/her situation without any appointment. There is no need for the

people to wait in queue (line) and take with them food, fruit, flower and incense sticks etc. It is

clear that disbelieving the Merciful god and worshipping idols or associating others with

    Allah is ungratefulness.

    SUBHEADING:-Believing idols as means

Such people in fact blame Allah. They express from their deeds that; though

Allah has created us but He pays no attention towards us. He does not listen to what we say.

That is why we convey our messages through them. In other words they say that; though

Allah has created such a vast world and uncountable creatures but He is not able to pay

attentiontowards all. So we deem these idols or virtuous people as means. Anyhow by thisconception and deeds, man does not get the willingness and boons of Allah but displeases

    him and demands afflictions.

    LESSON.NO.2

    Angels

Allah if appears before the infidels (unbelievers) according to their requisition or

the angels visit to witness the oneness of Allah and confirm the truthfulness of the prophets,

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    12/22

the human life will be of no significance. It is because after seeing Allah or His angels, the most

stupid and the barbarian too could not deny the message of Allah. In other words all the

people will accredit Islamic teaching and there will not be a single unbeliever of Allah in this

world. In such circumstance, there will be no need of testing the human beings. Had the test

needless in the view of Allah, He would not have given the power of thinking; understanding

    and speaking.

    LESSON.NO.3

    The messenger and the prophet

    SUBHEADING:-Observation

Similarly Allah unveiled His glory at the mount for Hadrat Musa (A.S) and

honored Hadrat Muhammad (Pboh) with the event of the Ascension (Miraj). Had Allah showed

the signs of signs of Divine power to all the human beings and converge all the people towards

Islam, the ability to think and understand, the knowledge to differentiate true and false, the

will and authority and freedom would have been of no use. No one would have been examined

and no one would have fail.

Allah never compels anyone, so He has given full liberty to all the people and

made this world an examination Hall. For the sake of examination Allah shows His signs

only to the prophets because they have to propagate the message of Allah. To the public He

shows only the marks of divine power because He wants to examine them.

    LESSON.NO.4

    THE LIFE TO COME (HEREAFTER)

Sub Heading: -Need of the Akhirat

If there is no examination and the papers are not valued and the result is not

declared, then learning and teaching would be of no use. There would be no compensation to

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    13/22

those who struggle and strive. With out compensation nobody will take interest in learning.

Neither the knowledge would improve nor would new inventions come forth to facilitate the

    people.

The world is also an examination hall and every one has come here to appear forthe examination.

Allah replies to the unbelievers. Tell them: (You will be raised afresh even if)

you turn to stone or iron, or any other form of creation you deem hardest of all (to recreate

from). They will certainly ask: Who will bring us back (to life)? say: He who created you in

    the first instance.

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    14/22

In another surah Allah says, But people later cut up their religion into bits, each

group rejoicing in what they have. So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an

    appointed time.(surah 23-AL-Mumminun.53 &54)

    LESSON.NO.6

The importance and benefits of education

Sub Heading: -Knowledge -----the cause of superiority

The knowledge that Allah bestowed upon Hadrat Adam (AS) was the cause of his

superiority over the angles. The first and foremost favor by Allah to the prophet Muhammed

    (PBOH) was also knowledge.

Sub Heading: -Abu Nasr, the Muslim scientist

The famous Muslim scientist Abu Nasr Muhammad Pharabi ( Alphara buis-950AD)

was an inhabitant of Pharab, the famous town of Turkey. A scholar once handover his valuable

books to Pharabi with the intention of getting back after some days. Pharabi read all the books

before returning them to the scholar. This event was the turning point in the life of Pharabi.

Sub Heading: - Imam Ibn Taymiah

The family of Ibn Taymiah (Rh AA) migrated to Damascus when the Tartars

invaded upon their town. They left all their belonging but they did not like to leave the books

of there ancestors. So Imam Ibn Taymiah (RhAA) loaded the books on to a carts and dragging it

by himself reached Damascus along with woman and children.

    Sub Heading: -The cruel students

The boys and girls who get clothes and blood to earn, get admitted into a school,

listen to teachers inattentively, tolerate the punishmentshamelessly, are very cruel. They are

breaking the dreams of their parents. They neither learn nor educate others. This is the reason

that even after their schooling, they seem uneducated and rustics.

    LESSON.NO.7

    Rights to Parents

Allah says, O people! Fear your Lord. Who created you from a single being andout of it created its mate; and out of the two spread many men and women

threw pebbles in Mina. She is very old and cannot move a little. I did all these things carrying

her on my back. Have I rendered her right?

The prophet (PBOH) replied, No, you have not rendered her right. The man

asked, Why? The prophet (PBOH) said, this is because she has faced a lot of difficultiesduring your infancy with the wish to see you alive, and what ever you did for her, is with the

    wish of her death.

    SubHeading: -Spending on parents

A man came to the Prophet (PBOH) and complained of his father that whenever he wants, he

takes my wealth. The Prophet (PBOH) sent for his father. An old man with the support of

walking stick appeared. The prophet probed him. He started telling,

O the Prophet of Allah, when he (son) was weak and helpless I was strong. I was

rich and he was empty handed. I never stopped him taking my things. Today I am weak and

he is healthy and strong. I am empty handed and he is wealthy. Now he is safeguarding his

wealth from me. The Prophet (PBOH) wept on hearing his words.(Addressing the young man)

He said, You and your wealth is your fathers.

    LESSON.NO.8

    Rights to relatives

    Sub Heading: -The commandment-1

Allah says in Quran. Surely Allah enjoins justice, kindness and the doing of good to kith and

kin, and forbids all that is shameful, evil and oppressive. He exhorts you so that you may be

    mindful. (Surah 16-Al-Nahl-90)

The Justice and kindness are equal to all the mankind without any kind of

preference. But relatives are more rightful than strangers. So sympathy should be shown to the

relatives more than the strangers and it should be according to their relation

Sub Heading: -The commands of the Prophet(PBOH)

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    17/22

Hadrat Anas (RAA) narrates that the Prophet (PBOH) said, One who wishes

abundance in his subsistence and delay in his demise, should have good deal with his relatives

and kindness with them. (Bukhari & Muslim)

    LESSON.NO.9

Hadrat Adam and Hawwa (Alayhimus Salam)

Sub Heading: -Knowledge more than the angels

Allah created Adam (AS) and gave him the freedom of intention and authority.

Because He created Adam (AS)for khilafat (vicegerency) that is to establish the rule of Allah on

earth, so he gave Hadrat Adam (AS) knowledge more than the Angels. To show the high status

of human being, Allah commanded the Angels to prostrate Hadrat Adam (AS). All the Angels

prostrated immediately. But Iblis disobeyed the commandment and did not prostrate.

    Sub Heading: -Summary

Satan intentionally committed the sin where as Hadrat Adam and Hawwa (AS)

committed the mistake on the instigation and deception of Satan. Satan was not only theenemy of Hadrat Adam (AS) but also is the enemy of all Muslims and non Muslims. Satan

induces the desire of wealth, position and children. He involves people in such activities, by

which they descend from their original position.

    LESSON.NO.10

    Hadrat Nuh (Alayhis Salam)

Sub Heading: -The discrimination of upper and lower castes

Every sin does not come in its original from before the people but gradually

entraps everybody in its net. Same thing happened with the people of Hadrat Nuh (AS). Among

them was a group that had control over the society- This group was boasting in the religious,

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    18/22

political and economical matters of the people- This group divided the people in the upper and

lower castes- This is the starting point of the discrimination in the world.

Sub Heading: -Prophets demand no reward

When you turned your back on my admonition (what harm did you cause me?) I

had asked you for no rewards, for my reward lies only with Allah, and I am commanded to be

of those who totally submit (to Him).(surah 10-yunus 71-72)

    Sub Heading: -Summary

The authority to interfere in the matters of Allah or recommend without permission is notgiven to anyone, evento the Messengers and Prophets. Had anybody been giventhe authority,

Hadrat Nuh(AS) would have rescued his son.--- ----- ----- So we should live according to thewill of Allah.

    LESSON.NO.11

    Hadrat Muhammad(PBOH)

(PBOH means may Allah bless and send His peace to him)

Sub Heading: -The origin of Quraysh

According to history, Hadrat Ismail (AS) had twelve sons. The elder among them

was Nabil. From his generation, a person was born who become famous-His name was

Adnan. From him a tribe took birth namely Adnania. Fihar bin Malik (bin Nazr binKinana) was a

person from the tribe of Adnania. His nick name was Quraysh. The tribe of Quraysh started

with the name of this person. A man of fame took birth in Quraysh. His name was Amrand hisnick name was Hashim. The children of Hashim are called Banu Hashim.

Sub Heading: -Benifits of the commercial contacts

Hashim was a celebrity and rich man in the tribe of Quraysh. He was the

managing trustee (mutavalli) of kabah. Once there was a severe famine at Makkah and the

  • 8/2/2019 Glimpses of ILaL Islam Part-1 & Part-2

    19/22

people starved. Hashim went to Syria and brought flour to feed the people. Hashim was a

businees man. He taught Quraysh the procedure of foreign trade. Thus they began to travel

Yemen and Ethiopia in the winter season and to Syria during summer. From the trade, they

procured contacts with other countries like Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Ethiopia and Makkah

    became the trade centre.

Sub Heading: -The birth of Muhammad (POBH)

Hadrat Muhammad (PBOH) born at dawn of Monday on 9th Rabiul Awwal and according to the

Christian calendar on 20.04.571.His paternal grandfather Abdul Muttalib named him

Muhammad and on the seventh day shaved the childs head(Aqiqah).

    LESSON.NO.12

    Etiquettes of taking food-1

From this it is clear that getting food in time and enjoying delicious things is not

the sign of Allahs willingness. Similarly being in starvation that is deprivation of eatables is

not the sign of unwillingness of Allah.

The Prophet said, Poverty and starvation runs fastly towards those who have

affection on me; like the flood water flowing down a slope. O Kab! You too have to face the

trial. So gather weapons to fight against poverty and starvation. (Tabarani)

Mawlana Jalil Ahsan Nadir (Rh AA) writes that the weapons to face poverty and

Excessive eating enlarges intestines and stomach. Due to this man becomes addicted to food. If

such a person becomes wealthy, he will spend more money on delicious food. And if he is

poor, he will not feel shy to patrol around the tables of rich people for food. The life of such

person ends in repressing the hunger of stomach and shameful parts.

    Etiquettes of taking food-2

    Sub Heading: -Eat united

Wahshi bin Harb (RAA) narrates that some companions said to the Prophet (PBOH),

We eat food but we do not get satisfaction and composure. The Prophet (PBOH)asked, Are

you eating individually? They replied, Yes. We eat individually. The Prophet said, Sit

united and eat with the name of Allah; that is saying Bismillah. You will get auspiciousness in

the food (and you will get satisfaction) (Abu Dawud)

Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (RAA) narrates that the Prophet (PBOH)said, The food of

two persons becomes enough for three, and three persons food becomes enough for four (if the

    food is taken unitedly) (Bukhari).

    Sub Heading: -Reduce the belch

Mawlana Faruq khan says that excessive eating and belching are the signs of

negligence. A believer should abstain from the things and habits which increases negligence.

The life is not to live with negligence. A man has to pass through many difficulties and

distresses. Death and after death standing before Allah is very terrific- If a man always keep in

mind this situation, negligence cannot overcome him. (kalam-e-Nubuwwat 2/455)

    LESSON.NO.14

    The etiquettes of sleeping

And of His signs is your sleeping at night and your seeking His Bounty during

the day. Indeed there are signs in this for those who hearken.(surah 30-Al-Rum 23)

And made your sleep a means of repose.(surah 78-Al-Naba-9)

From the above verses it is obvious that sleep is a symbol of divine power and a

source of repose to the man and it is impossible to get relief or peace of mind without sleep.

Sub Heading: -The bed of the Prophet(PBOH)

Somebody asked Hadrat Hafsah (RAA), How was the bed of the Prophet (PBOH) in

your house? Hadrat Hafsah (RAA) replied, It was a sack (gunny) which we fold into two folds

and put it down for the Prophet (PBOH)- One day I thought to make it four fold so that it may be

more comfortable. So I made it four fold and spread it.

The Prophet (PBOH) asked in the morning, what was that in the bed last night? I

said, The same cloth; but to make it soft I made it four folded. The Prophet (PBOH) said, No,

Let it be two folded. The softness of the bed became hindrance to get up for Tahajjud (after

    mid night) prayer. (Shamail Tirmidhi)

Sub Heading: -The etiquettes of sleeping

To get relief from tiredness, the youth needs 8 hours, men 6 hours and women 7

hours sound sleep. The first one hour sleep before mid night is equal to two hours sleep after

midnight. Hence habituate to sleep soon after Isha (night) prayer. This habit will bring sound

sleep and be able to get up early morning.

    LESSON.NO.15

    Animals are boons of Allah

Allah says in surah yasin: Do they not see Our handiwork. We created for them

cattle which they own? We have subjected the cattle to them so that some of them ride and eat

the flesh of others. They derive a variety of benefits and drinks from them. Will they, then, not

give thanks? (surah 36 yasin 71 to 73)

    Sub Heading: -Feed animals

Hadrat Abu Qalabah says that some of the companions (Sahabah -RAA) went to the

Prophet (PBOH) and praised one of their companions. They said, We have not seen a person

like him. He was reading Quran during the Journey. Where ever we stay he becomes busy inthe prayer.

The Prophet (PBOH) asked them, Then who guards his belongings and feed his

camel? They said, We guard his things and feed his camel. Prophet (PBOH) said, Then you

are better them him. (Abu Daud)

    Sub Heading: -Rearing pigeons

Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (RAA) narrates that the Prophet (PBOH) saw a man who wasbusy with the pigeons. The Prophet (PBOH) said, He is Satan and is busy with Satan. (Ahmad,

    Abu Daud, Ibn Majah, Bayhiqi)

In this Hadith the words He and Satan are used metaphorically to the pigeons

and to these who spent their precious time with the pigeons. The video games of the recent

time, the T.V. programs and other games are also Satans according to the above Hadith. One

who took interest in these things; neglects all his works and does not pray in time. These kinds

of Satans are in abundance, and the above Hadith teach us to refrain from such things.
