typically manufactured to

conform to the requirements of

American Society for Testing and

Materials (ASTM) Standard

Specification C 216, Grade SW,

C 62. In some instances brick

are manufactured to conform to

ASTM C652 which includes

increased core volume. Certain

products meet the requirements

of ASTM C 216, Type FBX,

Extruded

One of the quiet marvels of modern brickwork is the ease with which large quantities of brick can be created

through the process of extrusion—a manufacturing craft that

delivers exceptional quality and consistency, regardless of the

volume required.

Typically identified by its signature core holes, extruded

brick is created by forcing a mixture of clay and water into a

die, then cutting the resulting shape into shorter segments with

wire before firing. This results in a sturdy, visually pleasing brick

product that excels in many, highly varied applications.

Glazed

In the popular imagination, brick is conventionally rough-edged and ruddy, so much so that “brick red” is a

commonplace. In truth, brick comes in a stunning array of

colors, finishes and textures. Glazed brick extends that

palette dramatically. Glen-Gery offers a full line of glazed

brick in a variety of colors and textures that upset the

stereotypes of brick use.

To create this brick, glaze is applied to the outer

surface of extruded clay and carefully fired. The resulting

product displays an integrated hardened surface, available

in myriad colors—brilliant white to deep blue—and

textures that vary from glass-smooth to speckled and

rough. The potential uses of Glen-Gery glazed brick are

many, and the results are universally striking.
