Experiences will be delivered by highly skilled professional glass

makers who will guide you through your chosen experience step-by-step. Your safety is our paramount concern, as such,

you will enjoy extremely close supervision & tuition and no experience is required for any workshops.

Once completed, your crystal is put into an annealing oven to cool overnight. You will be advised when it will be available

for collection. We are happy to arrange postage, if it is not convenient to collect.

Baubles Create your own coloured bauble within a truly unique and educational glass blowing experience. The experience is closely supervised: you will select colours, melt them into the glass at 1200C and then blow your coloured decorative bauble. A glass hook will be applied for hanging. Suitable for children.

Cumbria Crystal HOT Glass Experiences

Paperweights You will use a variety of traditional glass-makers’ tools, to create unique coloured patterns in a round, solid glass paperweight. During this closely supervised hot glass experience you will also learn the secret of including decorative air bubbles in the glass.

Cumbria Crystal HOT Glass Experiences

Tumblers Learn how to gather molten glass from the furnace and shape it into a blown glass tumbler. We will guide you in shaping and inflating the glass, applying a punty and opening it up to create a pair of coloured tumblers using traditional wood and metal tools. A great shared experience that will definitely challenge.

Bud Vases You will be shown how to apply colour and use a variety of traditional glass-makers’ tools in the creation of a beautiful bud vase. You each have the choice of one of four shapes. An unforgettable shared experience.

Cumbria Crystal COLD Glass Tuition

Two-day weekend course Diamond wheel glass cutting An intensive workshop introducing you to the traditional craft of glass cutting. You will learn how to use a diamond cutting lathe; develop an understanding of the processes, the creative possibilities, and then develop your own cut crystal tumblers.
