Glaciated landscapes are formed by three main processes. These are:


Plucking is the ice freezing on to a jagged piece of rock and pulling it out as the ice

continues to move downhill.


Abrasion happens when ice already has fragments of rock embedded in its base and

these scrape at the rock surface.


Striations


Freeze- thaw is a form of physical weathering, common in mountains and glacial environments, caused by the expansion of water as it freezes.
