    23)Damodaran Committee - Reserve Bank of India has constituted a committee under thechairmanship of M. Damodaran, former chairman of SEBI, to look into banking services

    rendered to retail and small customers, including pensioners.

    24)The world bank has approved a loan of $300 million for the Scaling up Sustainable andResponsible Microfinance project. This funding for the microfinance project will be used

    by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for on-lending to Indian

    microfinance institutions and to support responsible finance initiatives such as the

    establishment of a microfinance information platform and promotion of adherence to a

    code of conduct for MFIs (microfinance institutions)

    25)Green Hiker campaign is the name of a new compaign by World Wide Fund for Nature-India (WWF-India) launched on June 04, 2010 in New Delhi.

    26)The state government of Punjab comes up with a decision to set up 3037 e-gram Suvidhacentres in the villages across the state at a cost of Rs. 90 crore. These e-grams centreswould ensure the delivery of basic people friendly services viz delivery of old-age

    pension, registration of pension for handicapped and widows and disabled persons with

    an easy access.

    27)Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Yojana is a new version of existing Jeevandayi Yojana.Jeevandayi Yojana is for BPL families only while the new scheme is for all families

    whose annual income is up to Rs. one lakh. The scheme will be launched in August 2010

    (probably on August 15) and will be launched in six districts, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Raigad,

    Amravati, Solapur and Nanded. The scheme is a family mediclaim insurance scheme and

    will benefit 2.4 crore families of the state.

    28)The union Government has set up an expert committee under the ChandigarhAdministrator and Punjab Governor Shibvraj Patil , to preserve the architectural heritage

    of Chandigarh.

    29)State Government of Andhra Pradesh comes up with India's first Mobile Adalat.30)The Handicrafts Development Wing of the Union Textile Ministry has planned to

    organize 6 "Bamboo Bazaars" in various parts of the country in this year. On June 4,2010, the first in this series was launched at Valluvar Kootam, Chennai by Union Textile

    Minister Dayanidhi Maran.

    (CAPE) to collect the statistics of Agricultural Output. But to forecast of Crops at

    sowing stage requires weather data and information of economic factors. So "Forecasting

    Agricultural output using Space, Agro meteorological and Land based observations

    (FASAL)" was designed. The main aim was to collect Monsoon data through remote

    sensing, economic data and monitoring of crops when growing.
