ABSTRACT SITI . Factors associated with the incidence of migraine in patients with neurological clinic at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital in Jakarta. Supervised by dr . SASMOYOHATI Sp.S ( K ) . and father SUGENG WIYONO , SKM , M. Kes . Migraine is a neurovascular disorder that is a common and chronic , which is characterized by severe attacks of headache , autonomic nervous system dysfunction , and may occur in some patients with aura involving neurologic symptoms . There are two categories of risk factors of migraine that can not be changed ( non- modifiable ) and that can be changed ( modifiable ) . Non - modifiable risk factors include age , female gender , white race , low education level , socioeconomic status and genetic factors . And modifiable risk factors include the frequency of migraine attacks , obesity , acute excessive drug consumption , excessive caffeine consumption , sleep apnea , psychiatric comorbidity and changes in life circumstances . Migraine currently ranks 20 out of all the diseases that cause disability in the world , but that has not been much research done on it 's own migraine headache , especially in Indonesia . The purpose of this study was to determine the cause and effect of risk factors on the incidence of migraine owned . This research is a descriptive analytical cross-sectional study design . How the selection of the sample with consecutive sampling technique . The number of respondents 87 people . Data were analyzed with univariate and bivariate chi square test . The results showed the incidence of migraine in patients who present with headache complaints numbered 59 people . The independent variables tested were gender ( p : 0.023 ) , age ( p : 0.878 ) , body mass index ( p : 0.000 ) , family history ( p : 0.001 ) , and levels of stress ( p : 0.000 ) . Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between gender, body mass index , family history and stress levels with the incidence of migraine .
