    and co-ordinate activities, GIS NTU Convention Center is an integrated conference

    center which is subordinated to National Taiwan University. It is located at transport

    Most of all, NTU is always the most prestigious Taiwan university in every academic

    Convenient Store All of you can buy various stuffs (ex: tissues, drinks, food, snacksetc.) in

    24-hour-open convenient stores and supermarkets, which are around everywhere.

    What is Easycard ?

    EasyCard is a touch-and-go IC ticketing system for the Taipei Metro, bus services,

    designated car parks, stores and government agencies. Just pass the card over the

    sensor area to make a transaction, avoiding hassles with finding correct change. As

    value can be added to the card at any time, there is no need to repeatedly purchasing

    new cards. An EasyCard can be used for years and its ultimate aim is to allow people

    to travel throughout Taiwan with only one card.

    1. Information Counter in all Taipei Metro stations.

    2. Convenience stores (7-ELEVEN, FamilyMart, Hi-Life and OK mart).

    RED LINE

    Tamsui is located in northwest of Taipei basin. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers and the scenery is

    beautiful. Anthony Castle is a 1st class historical site in

    Tamsui with historical meaning. It was built by the

    Spaniards in 1626 and restored by the Dutch. Because

    Taiwan people called the Dutch people Hongmao (people

    with red hair), the castle thus was called Hongmao Castle.

    One can enjoy the old streets, the cool breeze, the

    flower/trees planted by residents and the sense of

    relaxation. Walking on the old streets along the riverbank,

    you may view the old buildings and may try the tasty local

    dishes, such as fish dumplings, Agei (fried meat pastry) and

    hard eggs, etc. The dock is a good place for marvelous

    sunset viewing.

    1. Take the MRT to Tamsui Station

    Yangmingshan National Park is located in the north of Beitou. Yangmingshan was called Caoshan

    (Grass Mountain) during Japanese occupation of Taiwan,

    because it was covered with grass and seldom visited.

    Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that

    has volcanic geography and hot springs. The magnificent

    mountainous scenery and comfortable weather have made

    Yangmingshan National Park a perfect summer resort. Total

    area of the park is 125 hectares, designed in traditional

    Chinese style. The natural beauty of the part has won it the

    reputation as urban forest and the Taipei garden.

  • The National Palace Museum houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese art

    treasures, one which spans China's nearly 5,000-year

    history. Most of the museum's 620,000 art objects were

    part of the Chinese imperial collection, which began over

    1,000 years ago in the early Song dynasty.

    Shilin Night Market is the one of the largest night markets in Taipei. When one walks in the turning

    lanes and alleys, he (she) would often find something

    unexpected. The night market is packed with many people

    during holidays. We can often see families carrying many

    things from shopping and enjoying good meals. Their

    satisfaction is fully shown from their happy expressions.

    Tonghua Street Night Market is one of the busiest street markets in Taipei. The market featuers

    not only local foods but dozens of exotic delicacies,

    including inexpensive Malaysian, Japanese and Taiwanese

    snacks. The market attracts people of different ages, young

    people come here for fashionable clothing, families come

    here for daily goods and delicious foods. The neon signs

    that line the streets attract the late-night shoppers. As the

    night goes on, the street is vividly crowded with shoppers

    and gourmet lovers.

  • Taipei 101 Mall, formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, is a landmark skyscraper located

    in Xinyi District, Taipei. The building ranked officially as

    the world's tallest from 2004 until the opening of the Burj

    Khalifa in Dubai in 2010. It is Taiwans premier

    international shopping destination, featuring luxury goods,

    fashions, and fine dining.

    BLUE LINE

    Eslite Bookstore is one of the largest retail bookstore chains in Taiwan. In 1989, the first Eslite

    bookstore, a small operation opened near Taipeis Renai

    Circle, offering readers a selection of titles from the arts

    and humanities, to life and creativity. Nowadays, thanks to

    its unique and professional system of selecting books plus a

    multi-channel integrated business model , that small

    bookstore gradually developed into a conglomerate with

    the cultural and creative industries at its core. In 2004,

    Eslite was chosen Asias Best Bookstore in Time

    Magazines The Best of Asia survey and in 2011, Eslite was

    the recipient of the Top 100 Taiwan Brands Award

    presented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs R.O.C.

  • Longshan Temple is a second-degree historical site in Taiwan. Its architecture is a three-section design in

    shape. There are the front hall, the rear hall and the

    right/left dragons protecting the middle hall. The layout is

    square and serene. The temple was built in Qianlong 5th

    year in Qing Dynasty. Due to natural disaster and damages

    caused by men, the temple was restored for several times.

    The doors, beams, and poles are beautifully decorated. The

    temple has many Chinese poems, verses and lyrics on signs.

    There are great decorative lamp fairs and temple activities

    on historical festivals. On each 1st and 15th day each

    month of lunar year, regular visitors will come to the

    temple for worship ceremony.

    1. Take the MRT to Longshan Temple Station

    Huaxi Street Night Market is located nearby Longshan Temple. In the early years, Huaxi Street is

    famous for congregated porno shops. After prostitution is

    banned by Taipei City Government, the sightseeing quality

    is greatly uplifted and the place becomes safer. Chinese

    traditional lamps are hung along the street. There are old,

    historical shops along the street that provide great dishes.

    In the summer, chopped ice plates and fresh juice are in

    great demand. In the winter, dishes with Chinese medicine

    attract many visitors.
