Girl Scout Workshops

Don’t forget your Punch Card!For every two hours spent in a Girl Scout Workshop at Discovery World, you will receive one punch on your Girl Scout Punch Card. Gather 10 punches, and redeem your card for $10 OFF your next Girl Scout Workshop. Punches can only be collected and redeemed for the Girl Scout whose names appears on the card. Cards should be redeemed at Discovery World prior to booking your Workshop. You may drop-off or mail your Punch Cards to Discovery World ATTN: Education Dept. Punch cards CANNOT be redeemed for Satellite Programs or Sleepovers.

Special notes:• Please see your Educator to get your Girl Scout Parking Discount (rate is $9 per car).• Only registered Girl Scouts are allowed to participate in the Discovery World Girl Scout Workshops.• Purchase your unique Discovery World Patch in the Gift Shop during normal business hours!• Discovery World does not provide the physical badge for Badge Workshops.

Refund:

Rescheduling:If you wish to reschedule your Workshop reservation, YOU must notify our Reservations Department at 414.765.8625 at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of your scheduled Workshop. Rescheduling requests received after the two (2) week window will not be accepted.

Please note: A Workshop can be canceled by Discovery World if it does not meet the minimum attendance threshold. In the event of a cancellation, you will be notified at least seven (7) days before the Workshop start date and offered an alternative class or refund.

To Register for a Workshop: Please visit discoveryworld.org to select your desired Workshop or call our Reservations Department at 414.765.8625 between 8am-4pm. Full payment is due at time of registration; reservations will NOT be accepted without full payment.

Discovery World admission is included with the purchase of a Girl Scout Workshop for each participant the day of the Workshop, during regular museum hours only.

Girl Scout family members are welcome to explore Discovery World the day of their Girl Scout’s registered Workshop (during museum hours) at a reduced rate of:

Parents/Guardians are not required to stay for the Workshops. If any parents/guardians would like to watch, we will welcome up to 3 parents/guardians in the classroom. Other parents/guardians, siblings, and those not wishing to stay are asked to wait on the promenade. We ask that siblings be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

Girl Scout Brownie Bugs Badge$12/Girl ScoutLearn how insects are master designers, engineers, and builders that use found materials to create strong structures. Take what you’ve learned from insects to create your own insect house, and use knowledge about how butterflies mimic nature to make a folded origami butterfly to take home!

Girls Scouts will go on a bug walk outside (weather permitting.) Please dress for the weather.

Girl Scout Brownie Home Scientist Badge$12/Girl ScoutIn this exploratory and hands-on workshop, you’ll investigate the difference between a solid, liquid, and gas. Get ready to study chemical reactions, and discover the principles behind static electricity and more as you explore the science that happens right in your own home.

This workshop uses latex. Please let us know ahead of time if there are any latex allergies.

Girl Scout Brownie Computer Expert Badge$12/Girl ScoutLearn about internet safety as you use the internet to go on a virtual road trip and send virtual letters. Create artwork on Ping-Pong balls using robots called EggBots®, and even explore the world of online gaming.

Girl Scout Brownie Senses Badge$12/Girl ScoutDo certain smells remind you of different memories? Can you hear a pin drop from a mile away? In this workshop, you’ll perform sense-specific experiments to discover the answers to these questions and explore how our senses interpret the world around us.

Girl Scouts will be taste testing a variety of foods in this lab. Please let us know of any allergies. No soy, peanuts, or dairy will be used in this workshop.

Discovery World is once again partnering with the Milwaukee Admirals to offer Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts an exciting, jam-packed day of fun and adventure!

Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of all ages and their families can come to explore Discovery World between 10am-5pm, with special themed activities beginning at 12pm. After spending the afternoon at Discovery World, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts can head to the Admirals location, the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, to watch them take on exciting competition.

*Price Includes admission to Discovery World, Special Girl Scout and Boy Scout Activities at Discovery World, and a ticket to the Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Game.

Offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, Discovery World comes to you! You provide the space, we provide the expert, materials, and experiments to make the most out of your next meeting. A minimum of ten (10) Scouts is required, a working space for each Girl Scout (tables and chairs), and one chaperone for every ten (10) participants. Discovery World will bring all of the necessary supplies.

Boot up and roll over to Discovery World to experience our exhibits after dark! Program your future as you direct a robot to dance, explore how robots work, use machines to help you create art, and take a photo at the robot photo booth! After a night of innovation and fun, recharge your batteries and wake up to breakfast and a sunrise over Lake Michigan.

$40/Scout and $20/Chaperone

Cost includes admission to Discovery World, all program supplies and lab activities, fun patch, a snack on Friday, and a small breakfast on Saturday.
