Physical Features/Description

• Tallest animals on earth• Grown Giraffes can grow up to 18 feet tall and

newborns are 6 feet tall taller than the average person

• Giraffes have as many bones as humans in their neck

• Most Giraffes have dark spots on light skin• Giraffes have long thin legs

Habitat• Giraffes live up to 25 years they live more years at the

zoo• Young Giraffes eat by taking a small branch into it’s

mouth pulling backwards and combing of the leaf with it’s teeth

• Lions attack the Giraffes• Calf must always keep a sharp eye out for pred0ors• In the wet season food is plentiful and Giraffes don’t

need to stretch to reach the juicy leaves

Diet/Behavior

• eat by taking a small branch into it’s mouth pulling backwards

• rare for Giraffe’s to be in a group of Giraffe’s of 12 • tallest trees are beyond the reach of a giraffe’s stretch• soon as the giraffes start to run the other animals

flee too• When they fight their necks can get tangled up with each other
