    discarded beginning the morning of Wednesday, January 4, 2012. No exceptions.6. Permission is hereby granted to The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel to print or otherwise duplicate the picture or

    likeness of my entry and/or myself with my entry for either internal or external release, this includes print and onlinepublications, plus local and network television. I understand that the image of my entry becomes the property of TheSheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel. Permission is also granted to The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel totransport my entry for publicity purposes while understanding that at no time does The Sheraton Phoenix DowntownHotel guarantee the safety or security of my entry and cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred by myentry and cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred by my entry on or off the hotels property. Byparticipating, each competitor agrees to be bound by all of the Rules and Procedures herein, which may be amendedfrom time to time.     The following Rules and Procedures have been set forth and established by The SheratonPhoenix Downtown Hotel for the purpose of the 2011 Arizona Centennial GingerbreadCompetition. Please retain this information for your records. For additional information,contact Food & Beverage Assistant, Kelley Karnes at 602.817.5391.

    Entering & Qualifying to Enter:

    The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel reserves the right to refuse any entrydeemed inappropriate.

    To be eligible for the competition, a signed and completed entry form must bereceived by fax or email prior to 5 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Entries

    that are not pre-registered will not beaccepted. Entry numbers will be assignedupon receipt of completed entry forms and competitors will receive aconfirmation email.

    Only one Gingerbread House per entry form is permitted and individuals mayhave only one entry.

    The 2011 Arizona Centennial Gingerbread Competition entry form must besigned by the individual entering the competition.

    THEME:

    Competitors must adhere to the Arizona Centennial theme to be eligible. Entriesshould reflect Arizona in some way or acknowledge the states birthday.

    LIMITATIONS, IDENTIFACTION & DESCRIPTION:

    Not to exceed 24 inches high, 18 inches wide, and 24 inches long. Gingerbreadhouse must be placed on provided board base.

    Write your name, business, address and phone on the underside of your base. Please include with your gingerbread house a typed on-page description of your

    entry. Include any unique features about your gingerbread house and materialsused in the construction process. The top of your sheet should have the name ofyour gingerbread house and materials used in the construction process.

    JUDGING PROCESS & CRITERIA: Entries will be judged in five categories: (1) Overall Appearance (2) Originality & Creativity (3) Difficulty (4) Precision

    and (5) Consistency of Theme. Prizes will be awarded for the top three competitors through a donation to the

    charity of their choice inthe following amounts:o First - $1,000o Second - $500o Third - $250

    Judging will be held in mid-December, the date is to be determined. A cocktailreception will follow the judging.

    All rulings by the judges are independent and final. They are in no way influencedby The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel staff or affiliates. In the event of a tie,the competition Call Judge will be asked to break the tie.

    The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel reserves the right to refuse any entrydeemed inappropriate.

    MATERIALS, DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION:

    Except for the base, entries must beconstructed and composed completely ofedible materials. The main structure should be constructed primarily ofgingerbread. Paint and or ribbon may be used to decorate the outer edge of yourboard. Any entry with non-edible components will be automatically disqualified.

    Edible materials are not limited to sweets. No artificial display materials, such asStyrofoam or interior lighting are to be used in the construction or decoration ofthe house. Candies must be unwrapped and free of any non-edible materials (suchas lollipop sticks).

    All entries must be solely constructed by the individual entering the competition.

    ENTRY INTAKE, DISPLAY INFORMATION & ENTRY PICK-UP:

    Completed entries must be delivered to The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotelbetween Tuesday, November 22 and Friday, November 25, 2011 between 10 AMand 1 PM. Entries will be displayed on Friday, November 25, 2011, please planaccordingly.

    Entries will be displayed in The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel lobby. Thehotels porte cochere will be the drop-off point. Vehicles will be allowed 10minutes for unloading entries. Carts for transporting gingerbread houses will onlybe made available at this location. Please be aware that the hotel staff are notpermitted to assist in the direct transportation of any gingerbread house entry.

    Entries will be on display at The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel or third partyvenue when deemed appropriate by The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotelduring the hotels holiday season, beginning Friday, November 25, 2011 andending December 31, 2011. Houses may be picked-up only between Sunday,January 1 and Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Houses not picked up will be discardedbeginning the morning of Wednesday, January 4, 2012. No exceptions.
