Patron

Paweł Chrzanowski (1846-1914) is the patron of this school. He was a Russian Army general (Poland didn’t exist on the maps of Europe then) but after retiring from the army he returned to Warsaw and opened the school in 1905. He always spoke to the students in Polish which was not liked by the Russian government. He was a great patriot.

• The headmistress of school is Mrs. Anna Jarosz, who is also a Physics teacher.

• The school’s symbol is an owl, which means wisdom. We have our anthem too.

• In our school there are 35 classrooms, a canteen, a gym, a school shop and a library.

We start lessons at 8 a.m. Each one lasts 45 minutes. After every lesson there is a 10, 15 or 20 minutes break. Here you have an example of our daily lesson plan.

Teachers and staff

Our rules are not one of the most rigorous. We don’t have to wear uniforms but we can’t put on

brightly-coloured clothes. For celebrations we have to wear white shirts, black trousers or skirts and our school ties. We can’t die hair or put on make-up and we mustn’t use phones in school.

Activities

We have a school choir and a band. The student body organizes a lot of events and contests. We have Christmas and Easter fairs as well as a school picnic in May. We have a “Colour Day” and ‘’Lucky Number” when teachers can’t check students knowledge.

TRIPS!!!

• Every year we have got at least one trip for a week or so. In the first year at the beginning we go to the seaside – Kąty Rybackie – to integrate. In the second year we have a trip to Janów Lubelski and there are environmental workshops. In the third class we have a trip to Great Britian and to Cracow.
