The course material was relevant and up‑to‑date. The  degree gives you a very good understanding of the local and global markets. You get the fundamentals of economics and finance, how day‑to‑day business is run and how that data transforms into real property.

The lecturers were also supportive; several times I had assignments that I couldn’t quite finish, so I’d just email and get the response I needed to continue.

EDUCATION, TEACHING AND CHILDCARE | 37

My name is Sarah and I’m studying primary education at CQUniversity.

My dad, being a teacher, was a big influence on me. He was everyone’s favourite teacher and I feel like I kind of want to be that person.

I think CQUni is better than some other universities because the classes are a lot smaller and you get more one‑on‑one time with your lecturers. They make an effort to get to know you as a person, rather than just thinking of you as a number, which I think happens at a lot of other universities. Most of my lecturers are still teaching at primary school, so it’s good to hear their stories and nice to know that they know what education is like today.

I can’t wait to teach here and overseas. My main motivation is to fill the world with educated young people who are caring and creative.
