Wakeboarding
A 70-acre action sports complex with something for everyone
If your idea of a good time is lounging by the pool, be advised: Texas Ski Ranch is probably not for you. This sprawling complex offers enough action and excitement for even the most avid thrill-seeker. TSR boasts two lakes, a skateboard park, a motocross track and an indoor climbing wall. All ages and ability levels are welcome; private and group instruction is available from professional coaches. If you’re a water skier, wakeboarder or kneeboarder, don’t miss the unique thrill of zipping over the wake while being towed by an overhead cable. TSR’s unique cableways system eliminates the need for a boat. Water sports not your thing? Head for the rock wall for some serious climbing. Or grab your skateboard and try out your moves on the ramps, rails and half-pipes.

Whitewater rafting
Rafting in canyons of Granite Rock beneath the clear blue Colorado sky
Colorado Adventures/Wilderness Aware Rafting, led by husband-and-wife team Joe and Sue Greiner, has been setting high standards since 1976. It has been recognized as an industry leader, and was twice named the “Colorado Company of the Year.” The group operates rafting escapades on six rivers in Colorado and Arizona, ranging from half-day trips to 10-day-long journeys, some of them including guided float-fishing or inflatable kayaks. The full-day Browns Canyon adventure takes place on the Arkansas River, with inspiring views of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. It is a popular rafting destination with Class III–IV rapids, providing a challenge to seasoned rafters while remaining forgiving enough for first-time paddlers. Exciting rapids are often followed by a calm pool of slow moving water, allowing some time to breathe in the fresh air, admire the scenery, and take a photograph.
Highlights:
• Impeccable 30-year safety record
• Hand-picked, highly-trained professional river guides
• Delicious deli-style lunch enjoyed on the banks of the Arkansas River
Good to know: Guests may want to arrive early; breakfast is available before the trip begins, starting at 7:30am.
