39 million people are living with HIV and when they are treated with drugs like d4T or ZDV this can cause side-effects like fat loss that we are trying to understand and prevent.

Develop the existing Institute for Biogenesis Research into a multi-disciplinary research center for reproductivebiology research.

To conduct experimental longline trials field-testing the effects of E+metals on the catch rates of sharks and otherfish species.

Conduct surveys to determine the total amount of reef fish being extracted from Pohnpei's surrounding reef andlagoon by the non-commerical (subsistence) fishing sector and to document per capita consumption values

Conduct research to evaluate the ability of a specialist physician located at Tripler Army Medical Center to provideteam leadership for a team of doctors and nurses in Korea using a remote telemedicine system. The team in Korea practices on mannequin that simulates a medical crisis, and the specialist in Hawaii advises during the crisis simulation.

Conduct research for the improvements of power sources for small military systems via material and systemsdevelopment.

Primary purpose of this research is the understanding of the properties of the elementary constituents of matterand the nature of the fundamental forces between them.

This phase of the project will assess the electric and transportation infrastructure for the islands of Oahu andKauai, identify sites for electric microgrid studies, test and evaluate distributed generation and storage technologies, and address policy issues to accelerate implementation of renewable technologies.
