what is a mood board?

Mood boards are assemblages of images and, less frequently, objects, which are used to assist analysis, creativity and idea development in design activity. Mood boards can assist problem finding as well as problem solving. Primarily, mood boards provide a mechanism for students and practicing designers to respond to perceptions about the brief, the problem as it emerges and the ideas as they develop. The construction of mood boards potentially stimulates the perception and interpretation of more ephemeral phenomena such as color, texture, form, image and status.

Why make one?

Mood boards are an essential tool to set a visual tone of a given design project. By making one, a client or group can better assess if you’re communicating their intended message, and if you’re communicating with the target audience. It is also a great tool to serve as inspiration throughout your design process.

How to explain yourself? -wikiHow-

Start by thinking of who you are as a person, where you stand, how you want to come off as to other people.

Once you find the qualities about yourself that you want others to know you can start typing.  Make yourself interesting. Don't just type the facts, word it the right way. Type naturally, act like you're talking to someone rather than just typing in a box
