This tutorial explains how to upgrade Asanti 1.0 to 2.0.

NOTE: Contact Agfa service when you encounter a not documented situation.

1. Check your system to install Asanti 2.0 1. Download the PrepareForInstall tool (click here) on the

computer which will become your Asanti Server. 2. Extract the PrepareForInstall tool by double clicking the

2.0.0_PrepareForInstall file (in the Downloads location). 3. Browse to any hard disk root drive location in the Self extracting

archive dialog and click the "Extract" button

4. Start the PrepareForInstall application from the downloaded PrepareForInstall folder.

5. Fill out the complete registration form and make sure to use a valid e-mail address. The dongle number should be automatically detected. Click Next.

• The application will run various tests to check whether you need to make any Operating System software adjustments before you can start the Asanti 2.0 installation.

• A report will be generated which will inform you if changes need to be made.

2. The report indicates some issues 1. Make the required software adjustments.

• Example: Install the Windows updates.

2. Restart the PrepareForInstall application.

NOTES:

Various other errors and or warnings can be given than what is illustrated here.

Please contact Agfa service if you don’t know how to make the required adjustments.

3. The report indicates there are no issues 1. No action specific is required however notice that we do

recommend to remove no longer required jobs from your Asanti System (the upgrade process will take longer when there are a lot of jobs on your system).

2. Close the report and continue with the PrepareForInstall application to start the download of the Asanti 2.0.0 DVD.

The warning indicates that you will need to have an Asanti upgrade reservation code after the upgrade. If you do not have such a code than contact Agfa service.

4. Download the Asanti 2.0.0 DVD 1. Select the hard disk on which you want to download the Asanti

2.0 DVD. 2. Click the download button.

• The Asanti 2.0 DVD will be downloaded. The download time will depend on your internet connection bandwidth.

• After download the DVD will extract automatically.

5. Start the Asanti 2.0 upgrade installation 1. When the Asanti 2.0 DVD has downloaded successfully you can

start the upgrade by clicking the Install button.

• WARNING: Do not move or rename the Agfa DVD folder or its contents!

2. One or more Microsoft updates might need to be installed depending on your Operating System. Click Install to continue.

3. Click Next at the Welcome screen to continue with the installation.

4. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

5. Select a folder to make a backup of your current Asanti version and click Next to continue.

6. Click the Upgrade button to start the Upgrade installation.

7. The upgrade process will start with making a backup of your current system. Press the OK button when the backup finished successfully.

• Various screens will indicate the upgrade installation progress.

8. Select to install the Client and click Finish.

9. Follow the Client Installation Wizard. At the end of the client installer click Finish.

10. Click Yes at the end of the upgrade installation which will restart your computer.

6. Licensing your Asanti 2.0 system The Web License tool will be shown when your computer has restarted.

You must adjust your license before you can start working with Asanti 2.0.

Depending on your current license you will have to perform a different procedure.

Customers which have workflow upgrade contract

1. Click the upgrade button.

2. A confirmation screen will be shown after several minutes that the license has been adjusted. Click Close to close the Web License tool.

3. You can now start your Asanti 2.0 system with the Asanti Manager.

Customers without a workflow upgrade contract

1. Click the Re-Register button.

2. Click the Add link to add the upgrade reservation code which you received via mail.

3. Paste the upgrade reservation code in the first form field and click Next.

4. Click the Register button in the Registration menu window.

5. After clicking the Register button you should get a confirmation message that the registration was successful. Close this window and return to the Web License Tool.

6. The Web License Tool will be busy downloading and loading your license file, please be patient. Click Close when the Web license Tool reports that the License File has been downloaded and installed.

7. You can now start your Asanti 2.0 system with the Asanti Manager.

7. Troubleshooting

• PrepareForInstall generates an error: "Error connecting to service. Check network and proxy settings".

SOLUTION: PrepareForInstall does not support all Proxy Server types. Disable your Proxy Server configuration:

1. Open the Control Panel. 2. Open Network and Internet. 3. Open Internet Options. 4. Select the Connections tab. 5. Click on the LAN settings button. 6. Deselect all options within the LAN Settings dialog. 7. Click OK to close all dialogs. Contact Agfa service when you cannot disable the proxy server.

Contact Agfa service for any other error that you cannot resolve.
