Week #5 – FEB 29/Mar 1 - SPRING 2020
:
APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
Read John 17:13-21 1) We are Sent: How does God send us and what does it mean to live missionally?
Read John 20:21 2) We are Sent: Just as Jesus sent the disciples, we can apply this verse to our own lives
by asking the following question: With the peace given to every follower of Jesus, what are steps
we can take in our hearts and lives to prepare to be sent?
Read John 13:34-35 3) We are Sent to the Community: Give some examples of how we can love our
community. Why do you think we are known as Jesus’ disciples if we love?
Read Matthew 20:28 and I John 2:6 4) We are Sent to the Culture: Being that we are to be like Jesus, why do you think so
many Christians can accept being a servant of Christ, but have trouble being a servant to other
people?

APPLICATION QUESTIONS (cont.)
Week #5 – FEB 29/Mar 1 - SPRING 2020 Page 2
Read Acts 17:22-34 5) We are Sent to the Culture: When Paul spoke to the people in Athens, he was talking to a very religious group. In our culture, many people consider themselves religious. What did Paul teach to reach that culture that is the same in our current culture?
Read Matthew 28:19-20 6) We are Sent to the World: As many know, this is known as the Great Commission. One
of the most interesting things in these verses is that “making disciples” is an imperative verb or a
command. What does it mean to make disciples?
