5. Step 2 of 3 see – here select the ‘FREE’ one year subscription and fill out the rest of the form (you won’t be charged anything, but they need the credit card info for ID purposes – US citizen confirmation, I think).

Continue to step 3 of ‘Subscribe’ to finish the registration. When you are done, you will get an e-mail that gives your subscription info – User ID and Password; required when you log into the site.

6. Once you have your User ID, go back to the EPC site (see the link in step 1, above). This time, in the left column of the window, select Log In.

7. Fill in your User ID and Password. Select ‘GO’.

8. In the next screen select the blue line ‘Click here to launch EPCnet Online’. You might get a bar at the top of the window that IE has ‘blocked’ this site from downloading…..’. If you get that message, right-click and select to download the file. Then reselect ‘Click here to launch EPCnet Online’.

9. A Java app starts up and may take a few minutes to open the EPC site – here’s what it looks like when it’s

loading.

10. Get your VIN number ready. My VIN is ‘WDDPK7FA6DF050329’ – I’ll use it in the example, below. After the EPC window opens, in the upper left corner find the ‘Identification number’ pull-down (note that there are 8 entries). From here, select the 3 letter combination that your VIN starts with- ‘WDD’ in my example. In the next blank field, type in the rest of your VIN (the part after the 3 letter portion – PK7FA6DF050329 in my example). Hit a carriage return

. Get this window – we’re getting close now!!

12. That will bring up this window. Select the ‘Print’ icon.

13. From here, select the ‘All’ radio button. Then select ‘Print’.

14. You will need to have a pdf printer attached in order to generate a pdf (well, at least that’s how I had to do it).

15. From here, you can save it off as a pdf on your local drive – again, that’s just how I did it. 16. After you’re all done, close all of the applications. 17. Done! 18. Good Luck

There may be other ways to generate a Datacard, but this is how I got mine!!
