Today is the "Down Home Dinner. We are looking forward to tasting your favorite dish. The dish like momma and grand momma use to make. Like some hot steaming collards greens, ham hocks, hot peppered chitterlings, pork, lima beans, smoked neck bones, crackling corn bread, salty fat back, cheesy macaroni & cheese, yummy deviled eggs, homemade desserts & steamy sweet apple pie etc. This is just to name a few items. Thank you for bringing enough food to help feed your church family, visi-tors and friends.

Hopefully you where able to find styles of the Native 30's or 40's with the Bonnet's, Aprons, Bib Overalls (still wear them today 2015), Suspenders etc.

So let us have fun by eating, drinking and dressing the part in the Name of Jesus!

A Message from the Pastor

Lent is a season of soul searching and repentance. By our

observance of Lent The Christian imitates Jesus’ with-

drawal into the wilderness for forty days. To soul search is

to clear or remove all unnecessary spiritual junk and other

additives that over time has built up in the human heart. To

do this one must search his/her soul and Repent of such

deed or actions. Jesus calls for us to repentance Luke 5:27

-32 shares with us the need to repent and Matthew 4:17

allows us to know that repentance leads to salvation. Let it

be known that real and genuine repentance is of the heart

and not just lip service Mark 7:20-23, Jeremiah 4:3-4 and

Joel 2:12-13. Repentance is to become Godly sorrowful,

and thus it leads us to want and desire to live a better life

with Christ as our Lord and Savior. Who says to repent is

dull! Luke 15 chapter informs us that there is joy when

even one person repents and comes to Christ.
