Replacing the nylon inserts on non-rebound Supercraft Mallets:

Replacing the Hickory handle on non-rebound Supercraft Mallets:

1. Clamp the wornnylon insert firmlyin the vice and pullthe hammer offupwards.

2. With the hammerin the vice, pressthe new insertson to the insertretaining pegs.

For guarantee and safety reasons please only use Original Halder parts for allHalder Soft Face Mallets

1. Saw the handle off flushwith the handle protectivesleeve.

2. Use a punch to drive thespring cotter pin out.The spring cotter pin canbe reused.

3. Fully remove the rest ofthe wooden handle inthe protective sleeve bydrilling out.

4. Position the replacementhandle complete withaluminium wedge in theprotective sleeve and thenpress/knock the handle in.

5. Using a 3.8 mm diam. bit,drill through the handle viathe specified hole in thehandle protective sleeve.

6. Drive in the spring cotterpin until it is flush.

3. When striking heat-treated workpieces, always use a soft face mallet with plasticinserts.

4. Only use a soft faced mallet for the purpose for which it is intended. Avoid jarringblows and only use the striking faces of the hammer, never the side of the housing.

5. Select the appropriate hammer weight and diameter with regard to the workto be performed.

6. Before every use, check that the components of the soft face mallet are properlyaligned and tightened.

7. Never use a hammer with chips or burrs on the striking face. Worn replaceable parts(replacement inserts, wooden handles) must be replaced.

8. On warranty and safety grounds, only use Original Halder Replacement Parts forHalder Soft Faced Mallets.

9. Follow the fitting instructions on page 22 when fitting Simplex replacement parts.

10. Never strike one hammer against another.

11. Make sure that the soft face mallet is carefully maintained and properly storedafter use.
