There are so many Holidays in Germany. Can you name some? On December 21, if

you are late for work or sleep late, you are called a “Tomas Donkey”. Almost every city and

village has a patron saint that is honored with a yearly festival. The most important

Holiday in Germany is Easter.

May is mostly about old costumes. On May Day, they make a May Pole. A May Pole is

a tall tree, usually a fir, which is cut down, stripped of all, but its tall branches, and

decorated with ribbons. When they are done with the May tree, they would hang sausages

or candy on it.

Saint Martin’s day is mostly festivals, in other countries to. Germans would eat

goose on Saint Martin’s day. During the parades, little kids sing songs to Saint Martin.

On New Years Eve, they make a cake called “Vasilopitta”.They put a coin inside and

whoever has the coin will have good luck during the New Year.

Lastly, on Christmas Eve, Germans drink wine instead of beer. On Christmas, they

trade presents instead of getting it from a specific person or people. Germans put a shoe

under the fire place for presents. If you don’t eat well on Christmas Eve, you are called

“Dick Dutch” which means “fat stomach” and will be haunted by demons during the night.

The topic I am doing is Germany wars. The Germans

lost World War 1 and 2. The Germans made a peace

treaty saying that they can’t make tanks and

airplanes and the army had to be fewer than 100,000

troops. Before being defeated allied forces was

occupying of killing six million Jews.

grandpa was born.
