International recognition of the Amazonia strategic importance
AMAZONIA has a rich biodiversity of fish , plants , fruits, roots and trees that can economic development be used sustainably in the areas of herbal medicine , pharmaceutical , production of cosmetics, food , generation of carbon credits and various other forms and systems to ensure sustainable development.
Seven Brazilian States are involved in the Structuring Project for Amazon Forest-Based Cosmetics: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Roraima, Rondonia and Tocantins.
During Green Rio 2013 event, it took place the Sebrae’s Seminar “Amazon Forest-Based Cosmetics”.
Brazil is the third largest cosmetics consumer in the world. The most important segment in this sector is personal care products.(R$ 38 bilhões em 2013- Fonte ABIPEC)
