Digitaliseringen och automatiseringen i små- och medelstora svenska industriföretag (SMF) går för långsamt. Ska Sverige hålla takten med våra konkurrentländer behöver både regeringen och företagen själva satsa mer på digitalisering.

Enligt statistik från Eurostat befinner sig bara 11 procent av de svenska företagen på en avancerad nivå vad gäller digital teknik. Siffran är lägre än i något annat nordeuropeiskt land och kan jämföras med det europeiska genomsnittet på 17 procent.

Eftersom SMF utgör mer än 90 procent av alla tillverkande företag i Sverige, utgör den låga digitaliseringsnivån ett hot mot Sveriges internationella konkurrenskraft.
