Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical (Northern) Ltd can carryout the following works:

• Geotechnical ground response site testing unit;

• Drilling to depth specified by the design team;

• Flushing the borehole prior to insertion of geothermal loop;

• Pressure grouting the borehole, from the bottom up, using thermal enhanced bentonite grout;

• Pressure-test each individual borehole loop before installation;

• Flow and pressure test each individual borehole loopafter installation and grouting has taken place;

• Capping of all open borehole loops, immediately upon completion;

• Connecting systems as specified in the heat pump schematic drawing supplied bythe design team;

• Pressure and flow testing the complete system upon completion.

A Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical (Northern) Ltd geothermal engineer would be on site

to supervise all site works from inception to completion. All works would strictly adhere to

and be in accordance with the systems design.

Wind Farms: Onshore and OffshoreRaeburn Drilling and Geotechnical (Northern) Ltd have an experienced and accomplished

team carrying out extensive Geotechnical and Environmental investigations into wind farm

projects, to enable the client to design suitable wind turbine structures. Sites have included

Hill of Balquhindachy; Clochnahill, Stonehaven; Westray, Orkney; Hill of Burns Fyvie, Services

include, but are not limited to:

• Boreholes using Cable Percussive and Rotary methods;

• Geotechnical Engineers to supervise mechanical excavated trial pits and carry out geological logging, including in-situ geotechnical testing;

• Over 30 engineers and geologists ranging from recent graduate to chartered status with over 30 years

of geotechnical experience.

• All Staff hold appropriate Black, Silver or Gold CSCS cards.

• Modern fully networked IT systems incorporating a geotechnical database allowing the production

of logs, cross-sections, drawings and measurements. Integration with CAD systems, slope stability

analyses and contouring (layer profiling).

• Field testing including permeability (variable and constant head, packer, pumping), infiltration,

percolation, vane shear strength, CBR, plate load, redox potential and resistivity.

• Field installations including piezometers (Cassagrande, vibrating wire, pneumatic), gas and water

• Field monitoring of the above using the latest data logging systems.
