Blue Ridge Mountains
• Part of the Appalachian Mountain Range. The mountain range is located in the eastern United States, starting at its southern-most portion in Georgia, then ending northward in Pennsylvania.
• The forest environment provides natural habitat for many plants, trees and animals.

Piedmont The Piedmont Province
contains a series of rolling hills and occasional isolated mountains. Rivers and ravines are found throughout this province. This is an area of many forests.
Changes in elevations result in considerable variety in plants that grow.

Costal Plain A low flat region of
sandy, well drained, gently rolling hills and poorly drained flat lands.
