education hours, including a pre-conference risk management ethics workshop, 15 CE workshop

credits, one keynote address and three conference credits through social activities. This year’s theme, “Computing Change: The Intersection of Technology and Psychology,” focuses on the ubiquitous impact of technology on society and individuals, and on the synthesis of technology and empirically-supported treatment of psychological disorders. Psychologists’ research and clinical skills are essential to the healthy design and implementation of new technologies, and also to providing education and treatment to those who have been harmed in its wake. Our unique position as experts in cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes provides an opportunity to leverage emerging technologies for the benefit of society, while bringing an ethical responsibility to do so with prudence, integrity, and responsibility. It is imperative that psychology be at the forefront as technology continues to evolve. Join us as we gather together to deepen our knowledge about new trends, innovations and cutting edge research.

Friday begins with GPA keynote speaker, Dr. Barbara Rothbaum, Professor and Associate Vice Chair of Clinical Research in the Department of Psychiatry at Emory School of Medicine; she also serves as the Executive Director of the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program as well as the Trauma and Recovery Program. Dr. Rothbaum is a pioneer in the application of virtual reality to the treatment of psychological disorders. She is well known for her TEDTalk on the impact of virtual reality on behavior

and will explain how she has used it in the treatment of anxiety disorders including PTSD.

In addition to earning continuing education credits, conference attendees will have many opportunities to socialize with colleagues throughout the weekend. On Friday evening, every-one is encouraged to attend the Welcome Reception along with the GPA Student Poster Session. Participants are invited to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, meet new and old colleagues, and visit with students while viewing their poster submissions. During Saturday’s lunch break, psychologists and students can mingle during the GPA Networking Lunch. Wrap up Saturday by joining GPA leadership in celebrating our very own Dr. Jennifer Kelly, who is the next President-Elect for APA! Sunday morning starts with the GPA Member Breakfast, where attendees will receive updates on the association including latest develop-ments, membership information, financial updates, and plans for the future.

Reserve your spot early by registering today for GPA’s 2020 Annual Meeting! Our conference is highly attended by over 350 psychologists each year. Don’t miss the chance to attend quality CE workshops, socialize with colleagues, recognize student researchers, and network with exhibitors and sponsors at The Classic Center in Athens, GA!
