George was King of:
Great Britain
Ireland
And ruler of the Duchy and Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg (Hanover) in the Holy Roman Empire from 1698.
What happend with George???
He remained unpopular in England throughout his life, because of his inability to speak English . George was succeeded by his son, George Augustus, who took the throne as George II
GeorgeHe did not speak English so Walpole had to brush up his Latin in order to converse with the King and help him by translating what people in the Parliament said.
WHO WAS WALPOLE????
He has been called the first prime minister of Britain.
He began his political career as representative of “pocket” boroughs.
His ascendancy coincided with the decline of the political power of the monarchy and George became less and less involved in government.
Politics was regarded as a lucrative profession.
WALPOLE
was one of the greatest politicians in British history. He played a significant role in sustaining the Whig party, safeguarding the Hanoverian succession

The representative of a pocket borough was often the man who owned the land, and for this reason they were also referred to as proprietarial boroughs
Rotten boroughs were where fathers passed on constituencies to their sons as if they were personal property.Rotten had very few voters yet was represented in Parliament
