� Objetive: The main objective of the project is the development and implementation of an efficient and integral discards and by-catch management network of Spain and Portugal, implying all actors present in the fishing sector (fleets, ports, auctions, industries, etc.).

Expected results

� Project:

� Integral management network for the extractive fishing sector and related process industries , which will induce modification on capture methods, areas, depth, etc, to reduce unwanted by-catch

� Development of a spatial and temporal map based on a developed GIS model to avoid areas or period with abundance of unwanted by-catch

� Development and implementation of new on-board technologies to capture and send data in real time

� Actions 3 and 4:

� Discards Management Geoportal

� Map viewer and prediction models (WPS)

� Compatible data model to integrate into the Marine SDI

� Metadata catalog

� New on-board technologies for data adquisition

� BEOS (real time data capturing based on vision)
