Creative thinkersYoung people think creatively by generating and exploring ideas, making original connections. They try different ways to tackle a problem, working with others to find imaginative solutions and outcomes that are of value.

Creative thinkersGeographical enquiry involves pupils in asking questions and thinking critically, constructively and creatively. Pupils find novel ways of using and applying geographical knowledge and skills to develop new interpretations of place and space. Above all, creative thinking in geography is about pupils expressing, in a variety of ways, their understanding of interconnections in the world around them and their visions for the future. Geography enables pupils to form geographical imaginations of places. The concept of physical and human processes involves pupils in understanding change and development in places and the causes of these changes. Such understanding helps pupils to imagine alternative futures for places and for the people who live and work in them.
