Geocoding Challenges for Telecom Organizations

• Historic database is not spatial and cannot be mapped - Data not available for spatial interrogation or analysis

- Could lead to wrong assumption that customer is not in a service territory

• Locations need to be accurate - Determine what services are available to a given house or business

- Assign customers to the correct equipment

- Problems finding customers or assets to repair troubles or install new services

- Inability to geocode customer locations in rural areas

• Addresses exist in multiple databases. - Reporting requirements may not be met effectively

ArcGIS Geocoding Targets the Best Available Location

• ArcGIS interrogates an address and matches it against the best available reference data for that address

• The search process falls back until the match meets a high level of confidence

• Results include rooftop location if available in addition to street front location
