GENEVIEVE SAY CV Hens Teeth Storyhunt – Co-director/performer Interactive performances of ʻThe Wild Swansʼ and ʻThe Book of Beastsʼ for North West museums, libraries and galleries including Chester Performs and Chorlton Arts Festival EEE-MoTion (Tids Pickard) – Itʼs a Love Thing/ The Morning After/ Fairycake Fruitcake 2008-2010 I have worked on 3 touring shows for EEE-Motion dance theatre company, looking at current issues that effect young people. Most recently ʻItʼs a love thingʼ explored the complex emotions within relationships using dance, capoeira, parkour, text and dramatization. Flukt – Flukt - 2004 – Present Flukt is a structured improvisational collective that is a product of performer and location, creating a unique, one off experience every time it is performed. I have been involved in Flukt productions since 2004 (and elevated to stilts dabler since 2008). Axial Dance – Night Cocoons -July 2008 7 dancers encapsulated in there own transparent cocoon embarked on a sight specific piece that used rope lights, abstract dance. Collision – Lyrics Sept-Nov 2006/07 Founded by Lisi Perry (Motionhouse, Scottish Dance Theatre) in 2004, Collision produces and performs highly physical and theatrical work. I have toured regionally with the company twice. As a company member I have contributed creatively to ʻLyricsʼ, allowing me to demonstrate my creative and theatrical potential. Collision – The Line 2008 ʻThe Lineʼ is a sight specific piece that was performed at various festivals and had over 100 participants for each show. As one of the professional dancers on the project, I performed, choreographed and facilitated workshops with participants to help create this spectacle of dance and theatre. Carnival Messiah July 2008/2007 & 1999 – 2004 A musical with a cast of over 100, Carnival messiah (written/directed by Geraldine Connor) explores Handelʼs Messiah with influences from the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Europe. I was both a principal dancer in the musical, and dance captain. Along with Carnival Messiah, I have done two five week runs at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, as well as playing the principal role of Dove of Peace at the Royal Albert Hall.
also: I am highly experienced and skilled in devising and choreographing both dance and theatre pieces. As part of my dance training I also underwent rigorous acting training. I have been trained in percussion, focusing on congas. I love capoeira and anything that involves jumping/ throwing myself around. I have a background in reggae/street dance/hip-hop movement and so my dance style is pretty aclectic. I also edit film professionally
