Also on offer is a full installation facility on all our generators, including offloading machinery, installing the necessary pipework and mechanical items, testing and commissioning before handing over to the customer together with a comprehensive documentation package.

Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services Ltd’s generator range offers a full range of branded powered diesel generator sets with power output ranging from 9 kVA to 3,300 kVA.

Our standard generator sets provide you with reliable energy solutions no matter what business you are in.

In addition, we produce bespoke generator sets to suit customer requirements. We can also fit a full range of optional accessories and supply ancillary items as standard or custom designed to meet your individual site requirements.

A full range of generator control systems and automatic changeover systems ensure complete flexibility and total control of installations.

All our generators for sale are suitable for both permanent and temporary applications and are available in either open format, designed for use in a plant room, or within self-contained acoustic enclosures designed for outdoor use and to reduce sound levels to comply with the latest European Community Noise Directive 2000/14/EC.

7P series (Perkins Powered) Generating SetsThe alternative prime mover is provided by the new Perkins 2800 Series engine in the range 600 to 710kVA.

The new Perkins engine generating sets offers optimised emissions and fuel optimised formats that will enhance and close existing product gaps in the 7S Scania powered range.

Bespoke Generator Range

Available from 250KW - 3MW

For customers with bespoke generator requirements, we offer a complete design and manufacture service for 250KW - 3MW generators.

Working from our purpose-built assembly unit in the North West, we can develop generators and control systems according to customers? own designs and specifications, with mains synchronisation by means of G59 compliant equipment, multiple generator set applications or ‘no brake’ ASCO transfer systems. Additionally, Burtonwood can offer a full site survey and work to develop a design in part or full.

InstallationHaving ordered a bespoke generator, our full installation service ensures complete continuity for customers.

Carried out by our skilled engineers, we oversee the offload of machinery into position; conduct a thorough mechanical and electrical installation and fully test and commission the generator before handing it over to the customer with our comprehensive documentation package (O&M manuals containing all drawings, instructions and information).



Generator Controls

The Insight 3200 controller offers features including kVA measurement, recording of last 119 alarm failures, CAN capability and adjustable operating modes.

The Insight 3200 controller is standard on the Series 5 generator range.

The Insight 3000 controller is the most basic controller of the range.

Features include manual and remote start/stop sequence, recording of last 10 alarms and true RMS sensing of generator phase voltages and currents.


The Insight 6000 is our ‘top-the-range’ auto synchronising panel, with AMF function, and can offer genset control for multiple unit application. This particular controller has infinite possibilities.

It can be used for mains or multiple generatorparalleling. One of its many applications include peakshaving.

The Insight 4000 comes complete with mains failure intelligence, record of events and advanced metering/protection functions.


Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services Ltd know that control systems are key to the efficient operation of our generator sets. Series 3 and 5 generator ranges both offer basic controls as well as digital versions, with these digital controls being standard on the Series 7 and 9 ranges. The digital controls have a full range of control options togtjher with diagnostic capabilities.

The digital controls in our standard generator ranges are made by the UK’s market leader, InSight. The units have been meticulously designed using state-of-the-art technologies such as those employed in the mobile phone industry. In a similar manner, the units are compact in size and intuitive to use.

In addition to the features and functionality of conventional generating set control systems InSight offers flexibility, user friendly, engine and generator protection plus the possibility of adding useful operational features such as event recording, remote monitoring as well as CAN ECU support. The Insight units also feature an automatic mains failure panel together with an LCD high resolution monitor with brightness controlled display.


Automatic Transfer Systems

Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services offers a broad

range of transfer switch products that are designed to support

virtually any type of emergency power application from

simple, single ATS installations to highly complex, multi-ATS/

generator switchgear systems.

ATS (Automatic Transfer Systems) are available from 63Amp to 2500Amp.

These systems offer:

• Automatic and manual push button control

• Mechanical operation only if required for increased

reliability

• The mechanically held switch ensures no loss of power

due to contactor coil burn out or electronics failure

• Fast acting switch, reducing transfer times between

generating set and utility poower supply

• Solid Neutral Kit available

Mobile Generator Sets

Turn a stationary generator into a portable power source!

Turning your stationary diesel generator set into a mobile source of power can be very easy. Simply ask our helpful sales team about mounting your generator set on a trailer or chassis. In most cases, smaller units (<100 kW) can be easily mounted on the top of a trailer bed and coupled to any vehicle fitted with an appropriate towing facility and capacity.

At Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services Ltd, we currently source small trailers that would transport a number of our smaller units (view our list of available generators below).

Trailer mounting is an ideal configuration for construction contractors who require power in remote locations where electrical utility power is not readily available - OR - if you have multiple construction sites or other sites that require on-site power generation.
