GENERATION TEACH develops talented and diverse students with local pathways into careers in education. WHAT WE DO We recruit and screen top- third undergraduates. We train and immerse them in summer teaching experiences in urban schools with daily coaching and feedback. And then, we place Fellows in classrooms with our partners and invite them back as coaches and leaders to build the next generation of urban teachers. WHO WE ARE We are a national team, driven by five core values, and committed to partnering with local communities to build place-based pipelines of exemplary educators, who are invested in the students, schools, and communities they serve. We launched in Denver in 2014 and are expanding in Denver and opening in Boston in 2015. WHY WE EXIST We believe that teachers, like doctors, are made, not born. But not everyone has what it takes to become a doctor...or a teacher. We believe teach- er development should start earlier and occur in concert with schools.
