NOTIFICATION I
The following list of General Holidays sanctioned by the Government for theyear 2010 is published for general information.
All Second Saturdays, Sundays and the following days.

Note :
1) This list does not include Mahaveera Jayanthi (28.03.2010), BasavaJayanthi (16.05.2010), Independence day (15.08.2010), Vijayadasami(17.10.2010), which falls on Sundays.
2) Government Offices will be closed through out the State on GeneralHolidays. However Heads of Department should make necessaryarrangements for the discharge of urgent work.
3) If any of the Muslim Holidays notified above does not fall on the datenotified Muslims in Government Service may be granted Holiday on thedate of observance in lieu of the holidays already notified.
4) Local holidays, are declared for Kodagu District only on account ofHuthri Festival on 23.11.2010 (Tuesday).
5) Separate list of Holidays will be published by the Commissioner ofPublic Instructions Bangalore for the Education Department.
6) In addition to the General holidays, the State Government Employeesmay utilise any of the Restricted Holidays not exceeding two daysduring the year 2010 with previous permission from the authority whois authorised to sanction casual leave.

Under the explanation of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881(Act No.XXVI of 1881) read with Notification No.20/25/26/Pub-I dated15.06.1957 of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, thefollowing shall be Public Holidays throughout the State of Karnataka duringthe year 2010.
All Sundays and the following days.

2) These holidays are declared for closing of Accounts of CommercialBanks and Co-operative Banks. The Reserve Bank of India will befunctioning on these days. All the Offices of the Reserve Bank will,therefore remain closed for public transactions on July 01. However,December 31 will be a working day for Reserve Bank of India.
