Dear Parents/Guardians, May is upon us and there are two months of school left in this school year. The last two months of school are traditionally very busy and this year is no exception. This month our students will be involved in many activities outside of the school building. Our grade 9 students were involved in the West End Clean-up on April 23rd. The partnership with The West End Biz and General Wolfe began Twenty-Four years ago. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to support the community and the businesses in the West End by cleaning up the streets and boulevards. Our grade nine students will also be going to Camp this month. This will be a chance for our grade nine students to spend some time together working collaboratively and celebrating before they leave General Wolfe School. All of our students will be involved in our Track and Field Day on May 8

th. In addition to these outings, several field trips are planned for in-

dividual classes. Our final Arts Showcase will be held on May 28th at 6:30 p.m. We would like to extend an invita-tion to all parents/guardians to attend this spectacular evening of art, music and dance. Parent Council ran the Show and Save Fundraiser this month. The top three sellers will be an-nounced the first week in May. All students who sold 4 or more books will be invited to attend a pizza party this month. Thank you to all our parents/guardians for supporting this fundraiser. The monies will be used to support student activities and also go towards parent council initiatives. As we approach the end of this school year we would like to encourage all students to continue to work hard and prepare for the exams. The exams are worth 25% of the final mark so it is im-portant that students review and take time to get ready for these year-end assessments.

Mei iko hapa nasi na kuna miezi miwili tu imebakia katika mwaka huu wa shule. Mwezi miwili ya shule kabla kufungwa huwa ni mwezi

yenye kazi nyingi sana na mwaka huu pia ni vile vile.

Mwezi huu wanafunzi wetu watashiriki katika shughuli nyingi nje ya jengo la shule. Wanafunzi wetu wa daraja la tisa walishiriki katika

Usafi wa Mwisho na Magharibi siku ya Aprili 23. Ushirikiano wa Mwisho na Magharibi Biz na Shule ya General Wolfe ilianza miaka

ishirini na minne iliyopita. Ni fursa nzuri kwa ajili ya wanafunzi wetu ili kusaidia jamii na biashara katika Mwisho na Magharibi na

kusafisha mitaa na barabara ndogo. Wanafunzi wetu wa daraja la tisa pia wataenda Camp mwezi huu. Hii itakuwa ni nafasi kwa wanafunzi

wetu wa daraja la tisa kutumia muda pamoja na kufanya kazi kwa ushirikiano na kuadhimisha kabla ya kuondoka Shule ya General Wolfe

School. Wanafunzi wetu wote watashiriki katika Orodha zetu za mazoezi ya kukimbia siku ya Mei 8, Mbali na tembizi hizi, safari za

masomo kadhaa zimepangwa za kila darasa binafsi.

Maonyesho ya Sanaa ya mwisho itafanyika tarehe 28 Mei saa 6:30. Tungependa kupanua mwaliko wa wazazi / walezi wote kuhudhuria

jioni hii ya kuvutia ya sanaa, muziki na ngoma.

Baraza la wazazi la Show na Save Fundraiser litakuwa mwezi huu. Wauzaji tatu wa juu watatangazwa wiki ya kwanza mwezi Mei.

Wanafunzi wote waliokuwa wanauza vitabu 4 au zaidi wataalikwa kuhudhuria chama cha pizza mwezi huu. Asante kwa wazazi wetu /

walezi wote kwa ajili ya kusaidia kuchangisha. Fedha zitatumika kusaidia shughuli za wanafunzi na pia zinakwenda katika mipango ya

wazazi halmashauri.

Tunapokaribia mwisho wa mwaka huu wa shule tungependa kuhimiza wanafunzi wote kuendelea kufanya kazi kwa bidii na kujiandaa kwa

ajili ya mitihani. mitihani ni thamani 25% ya alama ya mwisho kwa hivyo ni muhimu kwamba wanafunzi wajitahidi na kuchukua muda wa

kuwa tayari kwa ajili ya hizi tathmini ya mwisho wa mwaka.

Mga Magulang/Tagapag-alaga

Ang buwan ng Mayo ay narito na, at dalawang buwan nalamang ang nalalabi upang matapos ang taong ito sa pag-aaral. Ang huling dala-

wang buwan ay tradisyon na magiging napaka abala ng mga mag-aaral, ngunit dapat ay wala silang dahilan upang hindi ito matapos ng

maayos.

Itong buwan ang mga mag-aaral ay sasali sa napaka daming Gawain o aktibidad lalo na sa labas ng paaralan. Ang ika-9 na baiting ay kasa-

pi sa West End Clean-up o ang paglilinis sa Dulong Kanluran noon nakaraang 23- ng Abril. Ang pagtataguyod ng West-End Biz at an gat-

ing paaralan ng General Wolfe ay kasapi mula pa ng nakaraang 24 na taon. Ito ay napakagandang oportunidad sa mga mag-aaral na

makisapi o makilahok sa pagpapaganda ng komunidad sa ating Lugar, sa pamamagitan ng paglilinis ng kalye o lansangan, maibagbubunyi

Ang huling Sining “Showcase” ay gaganapin sa Mayo 28, ika 6:30 ng gabi. Kami po ay lugod na nag-aanyaya sa lahat ng mga Magulang/

Tagapag-alaga na magpunta sa gaganaping Sining, Musika at Sayaw.

Ang “Parent Council” ang magpapatakbo ng palabas at upang maka likom ng pondo itong buwan ng Mayo. Ang tatlong pinaka Malaki na

nagbenta ng 4 o mahigit pa na aklat ay maaanyayahan na magpunta sa “Pizza Party” itong buwan. Salamat sa inyong suporta sa pagpopon-

do. Ang salapi ay gagamitin upang suportahan ang mga mag-aaral at upang mapalawig ang pagkukusang loob ng “Parent Council”

Sa paglapit ng katapusan ng taong ito sa pag-aaral, kami po ay naghihikayat sa lahat ng mag-aaral na I-derecho o magbigay ng oras sa ka-

CULTURE CLUB

On April 18, members of the Culture Club and their parents attended Turnadot, at the Manitoba Opera. Each Season approximately 3,000 students are introduced to the wonder of Opera through student night. For many like ours this was their first night attending an Opera. The students and parents absolutely enjoyed the Opera, gathering after each intermission to enjoy cake and bottled water and share their enjoyment. It was very good to have the students faces light up with amazement and inspiration, the parents also enjoyed the evening.

Plug In Institute of Art

On April 13 room 151 was able to view the exhibition entitled "Yesterday was Once Tomorrow (A Brick Tool)"

On Thursday April 23rd

four of our Green Team members attended the Sustainability Conference hosted by Sisler High School. Students selected 2 workshops to attend in the morning. Five guest speakers from a variety of eco-friendly agencies presented at these workshops. In the afternoon, Sisler students spoke about their involvement in a number of sustainability programs run at Sisler school including recycling, composting, gardening, waste reduction and fair trade. One of our students wrote: My favorite session was Fair Trade. They don’t really focus on the environmental aspect but more on the human aspect, they try to make it as Earth friendly as possible. I love that they make it fair for everyone as well.

Throughout the day we were treated to apple crisp, soup and cookies and cinnamon buns all prepared

from fair trade ingredients as well as apples and vegetables grown is Sisler’s garden program.
