The general method and concepts we will follow when learning software technology in this class

Analysis• We will analyze existing products

and find out how and why they work, or don’t work.

• This is a transferable skill and very important to develop

• We will try to duplicate the product and concentrate on how to use the technology, whether it’s software or equipment

• We will work on technique

• Once we have experience with the tool then we will use it to be creative

• We will apply the concepts we discovered in the analysis and make something unique

Basic concepts of graphic saftware

• Selection tools• Moving and placing elements• Layers and organization• Cropping and cutting out parts• Text• Distressing and patterns• Creating shapes• Merging shapes• Choosing fonts and images

These are the basic skills required for software like Photoshop and Illustrator

To a point, these can be transferred to video and sound editing
