GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS / INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR A POST AT THE INSTITUTE

1. Application can be registered online in the website www.iitm.ac.in under the link Notices./ Recruitment

2. Applications should be submitted in the prescribed format. Candidates should enclose photo copies of certificates, in support of age, community in the prescribed format of the concerned !tate "o#t.$,educational %ualifications, e&perience etc. along with the filled in original online application with photoaffi&ed and signed. Application not in the prescribed format, application recei#ed through email will notbe considered

'. !eparate application has to be filled for each post.

(. )he prescribed %ualifications are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same willnot entitle him/her for being called for inter#iew

*. )he e&perience gained after the %ualifying degree only will be considered. +inimum re%uirements of %ualifications and/or e&perience can be rela&ed in respect of e&ceptionally outstanding candidates

. )he e&perience re%uired is rela&able at the discretion of the -nstitute in the case of candidates belongingto the !cheduled Caste / !cheduled )ribe, if at any stage of selection the competent authority is of theopinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the re%uisite e&perienceare not likely to be a#ailable to fill up the #acancy reser#ed for them

. Applicants may send copies of testimonials from persons intimately ac%uainted with their work andcharacter. -f the applicant is in employment, he/she should submit testimonials from the most recentemployer or immediate superior as a referee

. )he -nstitute reser#es the right to restrict the number of candidates for skill test/inter#iew to a reasonablelimit on the basis of %ualifications and e&perience higher than the minimum prescribed in thead#ertisement and other academic achie#ements. )he -nstitute also reser#es the right of re0ecting any or all the applications without assigning any reasons therefor 

. )he summoning of a candidate for inter#iew merely indicates that it is felt that he/she with others may besuitable for the post and con#eys no assurance whatsoe#er that he/she will be recommended or selected or his/her conditions specified in the application will be accepted.

Candidates must be citi3ens of -ndia. 4ersons who ha#e migrated from 4akistan with the intention of permanently settling in -ndia or sub0ects of Nepal are also eligible, but in their case a certificate of eligibility from the "o#ernment of -ndia will be necessary for appointment. !uch candidates should applyto the "o#ernment of -ndia in the +inistry of 5ome Affairs for necessary certificate and furnishsatisfactory proof of ha#ing so applied.

Candidates employed in "o#ernment and !emi6"o#ernment 7rganisations, 4ublic 8ndertakings,8ni#ersity and 9ducational -nstitutions must apply through their present employers. -f they anticipateuna#oidable delay in their applications submitted through proper channel reaching the Registrar, IITMaras before the closing date, they may submit ad#ance copies of their applications directly to theRegistrar, IIT Maras, C!e""ai#$%% %&$  which will be considered 'r()isi("a**+. 1'. Application forms incomplete in any way or not ha#ing re%uired educational / e&perience certificates anda latest photo affi&ed is liable to be re0ected without intimation.

1(. No correspondence whatsoe#er will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delay, conduct andresult of test/inter#iew and reasons for not being called for inter#iew. Can#assing in any form will be adis%ualification.
