Modern architecture and tradition, a healthy diet and luxury, uncompromising naturalness and

beauty, regionalism and cosmopolitanism. In her hotel Post Susanne Kaufmann knows how to

connect apparent contradictions in a pleasant way. The young, visionary hotelier heads the long

established, award-winning home in the fifth generation.

The Hotel Post is situated in Vorarlberg, on the old stagecoach route on the way to the Arlberg,

surrounded by the small town Bezau and the mountains, forests and meadows of the

Bregenzerwald. Since opening in 1850 the family the house has changed again and again for the

benefit of the guest. Finally, it has been carefully decomposed and converted of her brother Oskar

Leo Kaufmann after Susanne Kaufmann's ideas. The Austrian architect, whose work was already in

the New York Museum of Modern Art to see, designed the interior. Regional carpenters and

furniture maker’s produce handcraft the furniture’s exclusively for the Hotel Post Bezau. In the 54

minimalist rooms and four beautiful suites have been used the materials of wood, leather and hand-

woven linens from Bregenz Forest.

factory in the Bregenzerwald according to strict ecological principles.

Wellness Hotel Post Bezau

Once there, you can make it a good time in many different ways. The purist nice bathhouse offers

three floors of various saunas (Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam bath, garden sauna), an indoor pool,

out door saltwater pool with an unobstructed view to the sky, an open-air Jacuzzi and a large sun

deck. The guests come in motion at the architecturally unique tennis court, where tennis is taught

according to the TULOT method or in Technogym professional gym. There are various sports from

Natural beauty and relaxation, guests will find in Susan Kaufmann spa. The routine of everyday life,

stress and wrinkles disappear in a gentle way. In bright, pleasant and clear rooms a team of

experienced therapists offer facials, body rituals, massages and treatments, developed by Susan

Kaufmann. The products used are from the purely organic Susanne Kaufmann care system. A

particular focus is the active regeneration, the natural anti-aging.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

A stay at the Hotel Post can also help to get to know the positive momentum of Traditional Chinese

Medicine TCM. For ten years, Dr. Brigitte Klett, Doctor of Education, Chinese medicine, guides the

individual treatment programs in the Spa. She is supported since 2010 by Dr. Klaus Grimm. The

treatments are based on the five pillars of Chinese medicine treatment: nutrition, Chinese medicine,

acupuncture, Tuina massage and Qi Gong and can be performed at home as well.

Simplicity has nothing to do with asceticism according to Susanne Kaufmann. The style of Chef de

Cuisine Marius Ackermann is simple, pure and clear. He fits perfectly into the clean lines of modern

architecture and purist design of the Hotel Post Bezau. Outstanding ingredients and fine

craftsmanship are the basis for his style. As the Hotel Post, he wants to combine tradition and

modernity, to show that regional means diverse and exciting but not boring. His cuisine will be a

stage on which each piece perfectly is shown to advantage. Nothing is covered or reinterpreted,

aromas and tastes are performed purposeful. Patch effects, it does not need. His compositions

surprise and delight that way. No detours, he brings his ideas to the point.

Marius Ackerman's kitchen is accompanied by wine recommendations Dietmar Alges. The wine

expert has renewed the Post Hotel wine list carefully and maintains direct contact with Austrian as

well as many international wineries. Because wine and people are inextricably linked, for him wine is

an emotional product. He would like to know the wine, the vineyard, the soil and the grape-vine on

which the wine is growing, before he recommends, and drinks. With much enthusiasm he holds

regular tastings with different themes at the Hotel Post where the winemakers are often present.

This yields to interesting insights and discussions on the best wines, the hotel has to offer the post at

present. His goal, or rather his dream is that people also come for the wine in the Hotel Post. And

they will come, because his passion is contagious.

Irma Gourmet Restaurant

In the gourmet restaurant Irma offers Marius Ackermann two different menus every month. One 5-

course themed menu in which a seasonal product is celebrated in different variations and

combinations. A 7-course menu at the Irma where each course has a different culinary hero, who

impresses senses and taste buds. For years the kitchen from the Gault Millau awarded, currently

with 15 points, 2 hoods.

Nature in the Hotel Post Bezau

Bezau is located in the Bregenzerwald one of the last pristine valleys of the Alps. There are no

highways or silos and many farmer milks out by hand of conviction. Susanne Kaufmann and her staff

are the gateway to this intact world. They know the best walks, hikes and mountain bike tours.

Targets of the tours are often huts and mountain cheese dairies in which the guests can discover

delicious culinary discoveries.

Summer

In the summer, offering hiking and mountain bike tours for all levels ranging up to White water

rafting and paragliding. Pius Feurstein, our mountain guide, offers unforgettable tours, for example,

early in the morning on the Kanisfluh, where you can watch ibex and chamois. On hot days, rivers,

lakes and idyllic swimming pools are welcome for a slow and cool down. Back at the hotel, guests

can enjoy refreshing foot baths and massages for sore muscles.

Winter

Thanks to its location on the northern edge of the Alps, we have in the Bregenzerwald an above

average of snowfall. Alpine skiing, ski touring, cross country skiing and snowshoe hiking, anything is

possible. Just five minutes from the Hotel Post is Mellau Damüls, the largest ski area between Lake

Constance and the Arlberg. 109 km ski runs up to 2,100 meters. Guest who prefer more exclusive

offers, ride with the new Bezau gondola to the mountain special roof. There is starting point for ski

tours and runs away from groomed slopes.

Children's Holiday

The Hotel Post can combine many different interests. That makes it the ideal vacation destination for

families with children. In summer and in winter there are special offers for families with child care

Culture in the Hotel Post Bezau

The people from Bregenzerwald are regarded as self-confident and headstrong. They are also very

open to new ideas. Therefore here are traditions and customs in addition to modern architecture,

Susanne Kaufmann's husband, jazz musician and producer Alfred Vogel each year invites

international stars of jazz and classic to atmospheric Advent concerts in the Hotel Post and organizes

in the summer the music festival Bezau Beatz. With this open-air concert series, the musical tradition

of meeting in the village square is shown in a modern interpretation.

There are two highlights of classical music held in the vicinity of the Hotel Post: In the picturesque

village Schwarzenberg is held the international well-known music festival Schubertiade every

summer. International stars of the chamber music to the Hagen Quartet and Thomas Quasthoff pay

homage to the Austrian composer Franz Schubert and his work. Just 30 minutes from Bezau place

annually in July and August, the Bregenz Festival is held at the world's largest floating stage. There is

also the spectacular Kunsthaus Bregenz, it offers changing exhibitions of contemporary artists. But

even small museums such as the Angelika Kaufmann Museum in Schwarzenberg or the Women's

Museum in Hittisau lure of interesting exhibitions. There are also traditional attractions such as the

cattle drive in late September, Christmas markets and farm festivals. Currently can be admired the
